Featuring: Varje Mantsik, Brand Ambassador Estonia 🆕
📍 Tallinn, Estonia
💬 “How would you like to connect Estonian renal nurses with the wider European nephrology community?”
🎤 Varje: “Working in nephrology for more than 25 years has shown me how important professional development, knowledge sharing and collaboration are in providing high-quality kidney care.
Estonia is a small country and our nephrology nursing community is relatively small, which makes international professional connections especially valuable. As the EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador for Estonia, I would like to build a stronger bridge between Estonian renal nurses and the wider European nephrology community.
I hope to bring international knowledge, educational opportunities and professional connections closer to my colleagues in Estonia, while also sharing our own experience and good practices. For me, this role is about learning from each other, strengthening our profession and ultimately improving the quality of care for people living with kidney disease.”

💬 “Why is EDTNA/ERCA ambassadorship important in a small nephrology community such as Croatia?”
🎤 Danijel: "In a small nephrology community like Croatia, every initiative and every engaged professional can make a meaningful difference.
As an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador, I would like to connect Croatian nephrology nurses and allied healthcare professionals with the European nephrology community, encourage lifelong learning, share best practices, and inspire colleagues to actively participate in international education and collaboration.
I believe this role can strengthen our professional community and, most importantly, improve the quality of care we provide to patients with kidney disease."

Are you thinking of accrediting your renal dietetics course?
@EDTNAERCA are accrediting dietetic, nursing and other renal healthcare professional courses

📍Berlin, Germany | 🗓 16–19 September 2026
🎤 Deepa reporting:Introducing the Renal Dietetic Accreditation Program
As a member of the EDTNA/ERCA Accreditation Committee, I had the opportunity to present our newly developed Renal Dietetic Accreditation Program at the International Congress of Renal Nutrition and Metabolism in Berlin.
The accreditation framework was based on the original framework developed for nursing by Dr John Sedgwick and colleagues for EDTNA/ERCA, and adapted for renal dietetics by me.
With over 400 delegates from more than 50 countries, it was a great opportunity to share the benefits of Renal Dietetic Accreditation by a renal healthcare association with more than 50 years of history.
If you have a renal dietetic/nutrition course for Healthcare Professionals that you would like to accredit, please contact: [email protected]

Featuring: Carlos Gonçalves, Brand Ambassador Portugal
📍Lisbon, Portugal
💬 “How important do you consider the role of EDTNA/ERCA in a country such as Portugal?”
🎤 Carlos: "In Portugal, we are living in an era where research and excellence in clinical practice go hand in hand. Therefore, it is essential to create opportunities for the exchange of knowledge and expertise across different healthcare settings and professional realities.
This invaluable source of learning helps strengthen the quality of clinical practice and improve outcomes and quality of life for people living with chronic kidney disease. Together, in collaboration with the Portuguese Association, we can actively contribute to the advancement of nursing practice and support person-centred care in all its dimensions.
As an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador, I believe that close collaboration between the European and national associations is essential to ensure continuous and dynamic knowledge exchange. Such collaboration supports the development of nursing practice that can respond effectively to the increasingly complex needs of a more informed and demanding population, while delivering comprehensive, holistic care."

💬 “What inspired you to become an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador and connect Hungarian renal professionals with the wider European community?”
🎤 Judit: “I am motivated to serve as an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador in Hungary because I strongly believe in the power of education, professional development, and international collaboration to improve outcomes for people living with kidney disease.
EDTNA/ERCA provides an outstanding platform for sharing best practices, promoting evidence-based care, and connecting professionals across countries. As a Brand Ambassador, I would be proud to help strengthen these connections within Hungary and encourage greater participation in EDTNA/ERCA initiatives.
Hungary has many dedicated renal healthcare professionals, and I see an opportunity to increase awareness of the valuable resources, networking opportunities, and professional development programs that EDTNA/ERCA offers. 💬 “What would you have missed out on if you had never become an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador?”
🎤 Nina: "If I had never become an EDTNA/ERCA Brand Ambassador, I would have missed the opportunity to see nephrology nursing through a wider lens.
I am still new to the role, but one of the biggest benefits so far has been gaining an international perspective. Meeting colleagues from across Europe has reminded me that, despite working in different settings, we share many common goals and challenges.
These connections have expanded my thinking beyond national borders and given me new perspectives on our profession. I am looking forward to continuing to learn from colleagues across Europe, sharing experiences, and contributing to our nephrology nursing community together."
