Preferably in the #Doncaster or surrounding areas.🏡❤️ Meet gorgeous Peggy, a 6-year-old, three-legged Cavapoo who sadly needs a new home through no fault of her own. 💕 #UK 11 Oct 2026. Peggy’s much-loved owner is facing major surgery and a lengthy recovery, which unfortunately means she will no longer be able to care for her. It’s a heartbreaking situation, and we really want to make this transition as gentle as possible for them both. Peggy lost one of her legs following an injury as a puppy, but please don’t let that put you off! This clever little tripod manages beautifully on her three legs and gets around perfectly well in her own way. 🐾 Peggy is a very loving little girl, but she does have some insecurities and needs an understanding, experienced home where she can settle at her own pace. She loves being close to her person and can become anxious when left alone, sometimes crying or licking herself. She can also become a little overprotective or possessive of her favourite human and has occasionally growled in these situations. We want to be completely open about this so we can find Peggy the right home from the outset. She isn’t a bad dog, just a little girl who needs patience, reassurance, gentle boundaries and help learning to feel safe and secure. 🏡 PEGGY’S IDEAL HOME: 🐾 An experienced, patient owner, ideally familiar with nervous or insecure dogs. 🐾 A calm, quieter, adult-only home with no resident or visiting children. 🐾 No other dogs, cats or pets. 🐾 Someone home for most of the day who can gradually help her feel comfortable spending short periods alone. 🐾 Ideally a retired person or couple with plenty of time, love and understanding to offer. 🐾 A quieter, preferably countryside-type location where she can enjoy a couple of gentle walks each day. 🐾 A secure garden and a home where she can settle without pressure, in her own time. We will provide full support and guidance, including help from our qualified behaviourist, to work through Peggy’s insecurities and help her build confidence in her new surroundings. ❤️ Peggy is spayed, vaccinated and has been given a clean bill of health by her own vet. We will also arrange a full assessment with our rescue vet once a suitable foster home is found. We would particularly love to find someone willing to foster Peggy with a view to adopting her, giving everyone time to make sure it’s the right match and avoid having to move her again. We need new regulations for breeding and ownership ‼️‼️💔💔💔 'On Tuesday we got a call to help this little darling and of course we said yes. She has been in the vets since we said yes. She was found with lacerations, a bad ligature wound to her back leg, which looks like she may have been tethered by her hind limb, full of worms and fleas and with bent front limbs, likely down to poor nutrition. We’ve got her through the worst bit and got her all the treatment she needs and tomorrow she leaves the vets to go into foster under one of the rescues that we work with. Lots of healing physically and mentally and the start of a new life of happiness. We enjoy meeting other dogs out on our walks, but we’d prefer to be the only dogs in the home so we can continue being each other’s favourite companion. We could happily live with dog-savvy cats who have experience living alongside dogs. We’d also love a secure garden where we can potter about, stretch our legs, and enjoy a spot of sunbathing whenever the British weather allows it! ☀️ Once we’ve settled into our new home, we could be left for a couple of hours at a time. Having each other around means we’re never short of company.
