Genuine question: if I was born and raised in America and shaped by Black American culture, at what point does it become part of my culture rather than something I’m simply “experiencing”? Why would my parents being Trinidadian negate the culture I was actually raised in?

As a black immigrant myself it shouldn’t be a whole diaspora war just because Black Americans don’t want to be talked about crazy. That’s a completely reasonable ask. But a lot of Black immigrants’ ethnic pride relies on being superior to a Black American caricature.
