Man, I ain't had that much fun since I worked in a newsroom (back when we used tapes), though clearly my job at @KelsoComm is great, too. Congrats to all my new BFFs courtesy of #YesForMeck. Let's make public transit work for everyone!
Thanks also to all my media pals who showed up for #Election2025 to help us tell the story: @davemildenberg at @BusinessNC, Hilda and the team at @lanoticia, Amanda at @qcitymetro, @andy_weber_tv @QueenCityNews, @EstephanyNews @SpecNews1CLT
Mary Ramsey and @SinerJeff at @theobserver, @michaelngraff, @KaciONTV at @WCCBCharlotte, @Sharrison_WFAE, @JoeBrunoWSOC9 (who keeps us all on X) at @wsoctv, @ashleytfahey at @CltLedger and @hodgesreporting at @WBTV_News. You guys rock.
Reading my @queencitynerve email by @pitkin_ryan (as usual), and was just made aware of Laura Stinson and her @badattitudespod. So excited to binge her podcast for real talk about #Disability and language. (You should too).

It’s one of the most common complaints about Charlotte: What little history and culture it has gets torn down and replaced by apartment complexes. If you want to see that happen in real time and full color, take a walk around NoDa. charlottemagazine.com/the-no…
Animals can’t get a copyright for their own selfies? Who knew?!? Getting a lot out of @CayceMyers’s presentation on AI and PR, courtesy of @prsacharlotte.

2024 is officially “The Year of Public Schools” in North Carolina. The future of our state goes to class in a public school, and we must invest in that future.

Amen! Well done, @sarakaymooney!
What makes a school “great?” Earning an A on the antiquated and deeply flawed school performance grading system? Then what makes a school "bad?" And what does that say about the people who make up that school? @sarakaymooney's latest op-ed: qcnerve.com/charlotte-meckle…
As a healthcare marketer and special needs parent, this @KelsoComm project was personal for me! If you want to know more about the "Understanding Addiction and Developmental Disabilities" video series that won "Best in Show" from @CHPRMS, register and join us.👇

Happy #NCMedicaid Expansion day! I had the pleasure of attending the kick off this morning with NC Governor Cooper and @ncdhhs Sec. Kinsley. So proud of the work that @CLTLegAdvocacy and @NavigatorNc are doing to help the newly eligible connect to the care they need.

a thanksgiving blessing when you don’t feel terribly thankful
God, I am struggling to find my way
toward gratitude this thanksgiving.
Help my heart find joy,
for you know how much I need it.
come meet us in our needs
that weigh so heavily upon us.
God have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
Spirit have mercy.
"Will you not revive us again,
that your people may rejoice in you?"
—Psalm 85:6
God have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
Spirit have mercy.
Blessed are we
who come to you just as we are,
with our loneliness and loss,
our scarcity and sorrow,
and say God,
there is just not enough
though we’re not even
supposed to say it today,
there is just not enough to go on:
not enough money to pay bills,
not enough jobs,
nor safety for those who have them,
not enough wisdom to find solutions,
not enough strength
or comfort or connection.
Things are just harder now.
Blessed are we who say, God,
could you come meet us here,
in this place?
This place of need
where our feelings don’t match the day?
Blessed are we who hear You saying:
“come to me, all you who are weary
and carrying heavy burdens,
and I will give you rest.”
And we come.
And somehow there is rest,
and gladness for tiny, tiny graces.
Blessed are we,
the truly thankful.
God have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
Spirit have mercy.
Settle.
Place before your mind one gift of God.
And say thanks.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
—Matthew 5:3
This gives new and beautiful meaning to #DisabilityVisibility. Can’t wait to go see it.
