Fans also incorrectly attributed Kylo Ren’s “last the past die” line to Rian Johnson.
Ren is the villain of the movie! He’s also wrong and is depicted as having crossed a moral event horizon by the end.
Delmarva would lowkey be a fairly competitive swing state.
Recent presidential results:
2024: Harris+3.5
2020: Biden+7.7
2016: Clinton+0.4
Dems win it by about 5 points on average most cycles.
South Carolina has one of the starker divides of any state out there.
Western/Upstate SC has around ~2 million people and voted for Trump by 34 points.
The rest has ~3 million people and voted for him by 7.4% and - 0.5% in 2020.
Disney had a Star Wars movie with a 91% critic and “A” CinemaScore that was the highest-grossing film of the year and had a lower 1st to 2nd entry drop than ESB or AoTC.
They got so freaked out by online comments that they pivoted the next entry to be safer and respond/retcon most major complaints.

Maine's Senate race is a pure Toss Up.
In the DDHQ Forecast, Republican Susan Collins and Democrat Troy Jackson both have a 50% win probability.
This must-win seat for both parties is the closest Senate race in our forecast.
Pretty much all of the things people dislike about TRoS are direct responses to online fan criticism about TLJ.
And a lot of the sequel stuff people complain about broadly (like the lack of politics) are direct responses to the most pervasive pre-2015 Star Wars fandom complaints about the prequels.
George Lucas infamously did not care about any fan criticisms and generally did whatever he wanted, also to broadly mixed results in his later years managing the franchise. People who ended up liking the prequels eventually won out. So maybe it ultimately doesn't matter.
It actually got an "A" CinemaScore. Exact same one TFA got. In PostTrack, it had an 89% overall positive score (TFA had an 88%) and a 79% "definite recommend".
The box office decline from TFA to TLJ domestic (inflation-adjusted $1.01b to $633m, or 38%) is lower than ANH to ESB (inflation-adjusted $1.67b to $846m, or 51%) or TPM to AoTC (inflation-adjusted $846m to $501m, 41%). It's worth noting, of course, that TLJ wasn't the next film after TFA - Rogue one was, and it grossed more than Rogue One ($532m).
Basically, there's not a lot of evidence for the idea that The Last Jedi killed Star Wars.
A more likely explanation for why The Rise of Skywalker only grossed a billion dollars is that audiences didn't like it that much - it had a B+ CinemaScore and a far lower PostTrack score.

Greta Gerwig’s Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew is a rock inspired fantasy nodding to David Bowie and The Who.
“Narnia is literally a world made out of music,” she tells Empire. “Rock’n’roll to me felt like a world made out of music.”

I mean yeah, they basically paid Joss to film the movie again, and after that failed to make its money back, they paid Zack to finish it later.
It would have been easier and cheaper to let Snyder do his thing and then tone reboot after or whatever.
Warner Bros. reportedly regrets torching Zack Snyder's DC Universe and battling with him on Justice League. bit.ly/4rjY4Uw
