PCB: 135 parts, 514 pads, 4 layers.
An AI harness in VS Code did it all — calculated every part, read every datasheet, drew the schematic.
AI is lowering the barrier to building hardware.
What would you build?

When we started responding to Russia’s operation against our data centers, and when our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations.
Because there were fewer bots. And it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from – if they disappeared when Yandex went offline. This proves, again and again, that Europe is not the source of the problems. Europe is not the one making everything more difficult.
Most importantly, we need people in America, every morning, when the day in Europe is already moving toward evening, to really see what is happening. To see the truth.

[🇫🇷 version FR 👇] Back on the ground, back home in Europe, and welcomed by family, friends, colleagues, journalists and so many people here in Cologne. What a way to come home! 🫶 Thank you to everyone who was there, and to all of you who liked and shared my posts throughout the mission. You’ve helped shine a light on human spaceflight and what it can bring to life here on Earth.
It took countless people to make this mission possible and successful. But just as importantly, together we made it a joyful one. Rockets, spacecraft and space stations may be extraordinary pieces of technology, but spaceflight is, above all, a human adventure. And it is so much better when that adventure is filled with kindness, positivity and good vibes!
Many thanks as well to the French Air and Space Force for bringing me to Cologne. My 18 years of service taught me so much and played an important part in the journey that led me to become an astronaut. The moment I stepped aboard the plane, I felt at home, surrounded by family, my aviator brothers and sisters.
And now, first things first: getting my “Earth legs” and “Earth balance” back! 🌍

Your kid wants a drone.
DJI Mini 4K: $299. It films in 4K. It weighs under 249 grams. It comes with a remote.
Flix is the other kind. An ESP32, four motors, a 3D-printed frame. 2.1k stars. The flight code is under 2,000 lines. Short enough to read in an afternoon.
The sensor reads the tilt. The code levels the motors. You steer.
A phone can fly it over Wi-Fi. So can a USB gamepad. So can a normal remote. No app store account.
Gazebo runs the same Arduino code on screen before you arm the real one. Break the plastic, print another. The frame files are STL and STEP, in the repo.
There is a Python library for scripted flights. A wireless command line. A flight-control textbook, still being written. Position hold is on the list. It is not done.
One honest note. This is not a DJI. No camera. No GPS. A crash can break more than the frame. The author says it may not fly, and is not responsible for injury.
If you want the video, buy the Mini 4K. If you want to read how a drone stays in the air, build a Flix.

which board should you actually start with?
Arduino vs ESP32 vs Raspberry Pi
4 months into robotics as a hobby, here's what i'd tell myself on day one:
1. start with arduino
use it when you're learning:
- motors
- servos
- sensors
- basic circuits
atmega328p, 16 mhz, 2 kb of ram, and 5v logic so most hobby parts plug straight in
when your code runs, nothing interrupts it, and that makes timing easy to reason about
best place to learn the fundamentals without debugging an operating system at the same time
you outgrow it the day you add wifi or a camera
2. move to esp32
use it when you want:
- wifi
- bluetooth
- wireless control
- anything that reports back to your phone
dual core at 240 mhz, 520 kb ram, radios on the chip, around $5 a board
more connectivity and still hands on, so you keep writing the same kind of code
two things that cost me a weekend each:
3.3v logic, so your 5v sensors need a level shifter or they read garbage
and on the original esp32 the adc2 pins stop reading the moment wifi turns on
3. go for raspberry pi
use it when your robot needs:
- computer vision
- ai and ml
- ros 2
- heavy processing
now you're running a computer inside your robot, with all of the upside and all of the cost
linux decides when your code runs, so pwm timing jitters and servos twitch
and pulling the power without a shutdown corrupts the sd card, which i learned twice
also worth knowing, raspberry makes a real microcontroller too, the pico, about $4
so the quick version:
never wired anything before -> arduino
want wifi and the best price -> esp32
need vision or a camera -> raspberry pi
and yes, you can use more than one
arduino -> control
esp32 -> connect
raspberry pi -> compute
that combination is what took me 4 months to understand
the pi is the brain and the microcontroller is the spine, and a real robot wants both

Tous mes sens me disent émotion.
Et pourtant, rien n’existe.
Que vaut un ressenti réel face à une création synthétique ?
On le dénigre, on l’accepte ?
Ce ressenti vaut-il moins que celui généré dans la vraie vie ?

Tomorrow, 🇫🇷 President @EmmanuelMacron will attend the ceremonial opening of the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition at the @BritishMuseum, marking an exceptional moment made possible by the historic loan of the Tapestry from France to the United Kingdom. 🇫🇷🇬🇧
As President Emmanuel Macron stated in July: « The tapestry recounts the epic story of William the Conqueror in 1066, an era when rivalry and war shaped our two peoples’ destinies. Since with this defining moment, our shared story within Europe has been that of the Entente Cordiale, of a shared commitment to Europe’s freedom, of the alliance between Churchill and de Gaulle, of great industrial and scientific endeavours, and of unparalleled human, intellectual and artistic ties. »
The King used part of his speech at the opening of the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition to address the French president... in French.
After welcoming Emmanuel Macron and his wife he said he hoped they had admired the tapestry, presented in the UK for the first time.
