I’m not “self made”. I’m community made, I’m family made. I’m land made. I’m ancestor made.
I’m made up of everything and everyone that made me exist outside just myself.

I'm for delaying the start of city-wide in-person schooling in NYC. I'm not alone. @NYCMayor @DOEChancellor. Remote learning starts tomorrow. The in-person return to schools is apparently next week. We still have a million questions #onlywhenitssafe docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

You don't have to be a math major to understand the cruelty here. @NYCMayor, who is projecting a 3.5% loss in revenue, is proposing a 25%(!) cut to @NYCYouth. Including a 100% cut to SYEP. This is insane. We're going to keep fighting this with all we have. #SaveSYEP
The proposed cuts to the DOE, while totally devastating, represent about 2% of the agency's budget. The proposed ~$200 million in cuts to @NYCYouth, which runs the city's summer and afterschool youth programs, represent about a QUARTER of the agency's entire budget.
Yes, this! → “I wonder what youth joint struggle work looks like.”

Two high schools in Chelsea are segregated by a staircase. Students are striking outside in the cold to demand that @NYCMayor and @DOEChancellor issue a citywide integration plan. I join their call for action! #IntegrateNOW teenstakecharge.com/campaign – at Queens, NY
