Can we just recognize that 100-day campaigns are what we should always have? Could get rid of that insidious money in politics and the American people wouldn’t have to suffer through year-long campaign commercials. And elected officials could spend more time doing their real jobs

Fears about eroding democracy are not abstract for the millions of Americans who will lose rights and suffer under a white Christian nationalist regime that does not believe a multiracial citizenry should be sharing power of governing.

A week ago Donald Trump threatened American Jews to "get their act together" "before it is too late" on his social media website. The right-wing media has turned up the volume on antisemitism considerably. A non-exhaustive thread of examples: 🧵

The level of disconnect & unconcern is alarming. Some in our company got invited to a lunch conference on workplace inclusion...with zero COVID guidelines. If inclusion doesn't apply to those with health concerns, and public health workers are mask-apathetic, the future is grim.

Don’t be nice to the oppressed. Help destroy the systems that cause their oppression. Don’t be kind to the marginalized. Actively speak against their marginalization. Ocasional niceness and performative kindness changes nothing.

I have great sympathy for lonely people in these lonely times; we should insist on a world that prioritizes people over property or profit—and never treats people as property or profit. I have no time for the acquisitive notion that anyone is entitled to another’s body.

The way out of this quagmire is to stop lying about everything, no matter who or what it exposes. Brutal honesty is required.

I know Ken Scales. I frequented the Brookline @WholeFoods he worked at. He's a good man, + a hard, steady worker. This is absolute BULLSHIT, @JeffBezos & @amazon. Do the right thing + give Ken his severance. Please retweet if you agree. Nice work reporting this, @spmurphyboston. – at Brookline, MA

In Judaism, if you say a prayer over something, then fail to do the requisite action that follows, like blessing bread and not eating it, it’s a bracha levatla - which is a sinful act. If you pray for victims of gun violence but do nothing, it is a sinful act.
