“I have no reason to steal public money. I have enough to go back home and relax, travel to where I want for the rest of my life. The only thing I can do now that will make meaning to my life is to pull people out of poverty.”

But why are you as an average citizen actually supporting Tinubu? I literally cannot make sense of it.
I understand why those "anywhere belle face" people are supporting him — they're getting some benefits.
But those of you who are suffering just like majority of the population, why are you supporting this government? You're barely making ends meet, you can't get a good job, some of you don't even know what you'll eat tonight, yet, you're supporting the government that put you in that possible.
Those of you in diaspora as well who ran away from this country for greener pastures, better healthcare, security among other things. Some of you sold properties to travel out, some of you had to take a loan because this country has become unbearable for you.
I literally cannot make sense of why anyone is supporting Tinubu.
I mean, if you want to be tribalistic, why can't you vote for Seyi Makinde?? Someone who has a good track record in his state, so good that he won 31 out of 33 LGAs for his second term.
Why are you supporting the evil one? The failure!
I really cannot fathom this level of madness.

This only holds true if you're at the bottom layer of skills. I promise you that high value skills are always sought after, whether remote or not.
A lot of you Nigerians always want to go for the easily accessible skills because you don't have the patience to learn a proper skill where value lives. You're going for for skills with low barrier to entry.. what the hell is virtual assistance, social media management, general writing, basic no code automation??
You're easily replaceable by an AI agent or the client can simply choose to do the work themselves to save cash. Your skills have low job retention.
Focus your energy on where a bulk of business value lives, focus on skills where the bar is high and the competition is fewer. Invest time, money and energy in being the best at what you do, and treat your hustle like a business, because that's what you are as a remote worker. You're a business (contractor) and not just an individual employee with job security and benefits.
When picking a premium skill, ask yourself: "If I disappear mid-project or make a massive mistake, does the business lose $500, or do they lose $500,000?"
If your answer is the former, then you're in a low value skill, you need to move up the layers.
Remote workers, I hate to admit this, but I think reality is beginning to set in.
Remote job opportunities have reduced, and if we don't prepare for what's coming, a lot of us will struggle financially.
Let's be honest. Many of the opportunities available today are freelance gigs. Some last months, some last a few years, but not all of them offer long-term security.
That's why diversifying your income is more important now than ever.
If you're a remote worker who spends money anyhow because you believe another job will always come, please wake up.
Your current income is not guaranteed to last. Build other income streams while you still have the money to do so.

I’ve noticed bike-men always do this car owners even if the victim is clearly unhurt. There’s a socio-economic dynamic that correlates with the willingness to commit this kind of evil. When I drive and nearly have a run in with TW’s due their recklessness, they almost always…

Replying to @SaheedOlaSalami
If 40 to 50 metres of peat made the original route too expensive, publish the geotechnical report, original design, revised design and comparative cost analysis. Let Nigerians verify the claim.
Remember Laila Johnson-Salami’s encounter with Umahi in May 2024 over the Coastal Highway’s EIA? He insisted due process was being followed, yet the question of final approval was not clearly settled in that exchange.
The Environment Ministry subsequently published draft ESIA reports for Sections 1 and 2 for public review in August and October 2024. Those notices do not, by themselves, establish approval for every section or the newly revised alignment.
Engineering challenges may justify a redesign. They do not justify asking Nigerians to accept a major route change on trust alone. Show us the reports, costs and approvals. Transparency is not an attack on infrastructure.

This is what Nigerians across all levels don’t understand. We are not all going to get rich, the chance is even slighter in this climate. But we all deserve a decent life, and for that, we must have functioning systems & institutions.

Mr. Adesegun Awosanya, commonly known as Segalink, had choice words for Mr. Peter Obi.
He appears to be confused at the moment due to financial distress we all jointly share, but his earlier stance appears prescient.

I asked the Iyaloja of Oregun market what they use the 2,000 PER DAY levy they collect from EVERY TRADER in Oregun to do;
She said I should go and ask Kabiyesi.
I said she should be able to provide me answers since she is the emissary.
Guess her response?
She will send boys to beat me up 😂😂😂.
Bunch of looting criminals
How can you collect AT LEAST 2,000 naira Everyday from over 200 shops and there is no significant improvement.
Every shop is consistently deteriorating, gutters are stinking because there is no drainage but you will send boys to beat me up after you delayed us for thirty minutes to collect your useless levy?

Please if Prof Professor Henry Jedidiah Hunjo the HOD and Dr. Ganiu Bamgbose, is your father or relative, tell them to do their Job and not use their incompetence and negligence to ruin the lives of over 100 students
Dear Sanwoolu @jidesanwoolu young student that fulfilled their course requirements are getting extra year because the lecture and HOD refused to do their job.
So Lagos State University (Lasu) refused to graduate over 100 students because a nonchalant lecturer forgot to upload their results since 300 level
When they complained, the HOD told them to trust the process.
Now they are having extra year not becaue they failed, but because a lecturer failed to do his job and the school is looking to make extra money from tuition.
The students are heartbroken

When I was running my growth agency in 2023, we spent weeks on a client project trying to improve the product plus some really cool marketing but nobody was still buying.
We kept changing the design, adding features and tweaking the marketing.
Then an intern asked a very annoying question: “What if the product isn’t good enough to deserve all this optimization?”
We stopped optimizing and ended the contract.
That was one of the best business lessons I ever learned.
Sometimes growth is not about doing more.
Sometimes you need to admit the thing isn’t working.
By 2027, you’ll understand “again” that presidential elections can produce stronger ethnic or regional voting patterns than governorship elections, even though both elections take place among the same voters.
I strongly believe that after this Osun polls, Adeleke will feel betrayed by BAT (after his public endorsement) and will remain indifferent in 2027 or at best, work for his friend Atiku (Atiku won there in 2023 much to BAT’s annoyance)
He will absolutely not use his sweat and resources to work for BAT.
APC went too far in this election with the violence and threats.

Let me share a story that is obliquely related to this issue of manifestos…
Many years ago, as a middle management staff at Access Bank, I was chasing a transaction that had the potential to turn my groups profitability and balance sheet around.
The customer had landed a huge slate of contracts with the federal government. It would drive Billions in current account balances and fee fee income.
They needed a guarantee from the bank.
I made the case… wrote the credit analyses, presented the approval memoranda all the way to the management credit committee…
Everything looked good on paper. Almost too good…and it was provisionally approved after some hard grilling by the committee.
But after the meeting…My DMD at the time, the late Herbert Wigwe, called me to his office…
“Justin, I want to meet this customer in person. Schedule a meeting for next week but don’t issue the offer letter until after”
I was agitated…Haba…after all this wahala why can’t we just issue the guarantee and let me book my fees? But oga had spoken…so what to do?
I did as instructed.
We got to Abuja for this meeting as scheduled…
Hebert was just ‘gisting’… I was expecting some hard hitting technical questions, like the ones I had been asked…maybe he just wanted to hear them himself ?
But nah…
just gist…about business, how he got started, what he thought about this and that and the other…some old transactions…with other banks…politics…his relationship with the government and other deals in the pipeline …everything under the sun…but the specifics of the transaction in question.
Meeting ended. I’m confused.
We’re on the way back to the airport and I’m waiting for Herbert to say something.
Nothing.
Just talking about my business in general…other things I was working on. I knew better than to ask what I was really waiting to hear.
Then he drops the bomb just as we are landing in lagos.
“Justin, we’re not doing it”
I felt like exploding…
He continued…
“In the business of credit and banking, you will learn that willingness to repay is more important than the ability to repay…you will find other deals…”
I was deflated, confused, angry…
One guy from one of the top five banks that loves large ticket corporate deals did the transaction eventually. He got promoted for it…
The customer diverted some of the proceeds and the whole thing went sideways.
The guy also eventually got fired for it.
The only time HW revisited the issue was one day we met in the elevator a couple years after, when the news of the matter broke.
“Justin I’m sure you’re happy you didn’t do that transaction now”
I didn’t have to ask which one he meant.
How does any of this relate to manifestos?
They are important and necessary for every candidate to have. They provide clarity and a baseline for how one can evaluate a candidate in a presidential election.
But they tell you NOTHING about the CHARACTER of a candidate. They provide no insight into the most impactful attribute a leader should possess.
That can only be judged by their actions. Their track record. How they have handled previous responsibility or conducted themselves historically.
So by all means let’s have the manifestos and let’s critique them when they are made public by the candidates.
But let us also examine their manifest character, as evidenced by their lives and conduct in the past.
Otherwise the manifesto is hardly worth the paper it’s printed on
End of.
Continue to rest in peace HW.🙏🏾
