The French trashed the McDonalds, looted the Apple Store and Luis Vuitton's hand bags. All run by global billionaires. But they left the French Chicken shop untouched.

Soalnya atp kalo diomongin capek, kita semua capek. 2 tahun lho.
Replying to @boiebe
So ya organize, berjejaring, turun ke jalan. Kemarahannya terus dirawat, disalurkan, berulang2.

we're seeing uprisings across the globe due to fascism and yet middle class indonesians will still think that they suffer more than anyone else in the world

Setuju. Romo Mangun ktk merestorasi kawasan kumuh Kali Code, ia ga menjadikan ilmu Teknik Sipil sbg satu2ny pemecah masalah. Tp ia jg ikut berdialog & ngambil ilmu dari masyarakat di sana, aspek Soshumnya dipake. Btw dia lulusan ITB, ya, kampus yg katanya lulusannya tone deaf itu
You know why they tell STEM people to read sociology? Because STEM people keep trying to solve social issues with tech alone. I have not seen any Humanities people claiming to have solved a STEM problem using historical documents or the like.

Romo Mangun pernah bilang arsitektur mustinya masuk humaniora. Di buku Wastu Citra dijelasin mengapa demikian. U/ proses yg di Kali Code bisa baca buku Menuju Kampung Pemerdekaan yg disusun Darwis Khudori, muridnya. Di situ nampak pentingnya soshum dlm penataan kawasan.

Bakar halte dikecam.

Us going at each other's throat is EXACTLY what they want. Semua orang sengsara. Kesampingkan dulu perbedaan. Kalo mau berantem ntar aja, sekarang kita bersatu dulu.

Gua kasih hint dah. Kebanyakan dari kalian cuma muter 360 derajat dari pola pikir kolonial. Dulu Barat merasa paling bermoral dan berhak menyucikan Timur. Sekarang, kalian cuma ganti subjeknya jadi Timur.

Share story buat awareness sambil nunggu orang lain aja yang jadi martir buat turun dan mau ngamuk di jalan, nanti kalo orang tsb ditangkep dan digebukin polisi tinggal share story lagi buat awareness lagi. Kan sekecil-kecilnya perlawanan adalah itulah pokoknya 😋

But in all seriousness, the reaction from Japanese One Piece fans to people using the Straw Hat Jolly Roger in protests has been genuinely pissing me off. So many of them are more concerned about people bringing One Piece into real-life politics, calling it dangerous rhetoric and worrying that the series could get banned in certain countries, than they are about WHY people are even using it in the first place. And I think this perfectly highlights the disconnect between Japanese fans and international fans. For some of them, One Piece is a manga they love and want to protect from controversy. For a lot of us, its themes of oppression, corruption, government tyranny and the fight for freedom hit a little closer to home. Some of us have lived through these things. Some of us have watched our families and loved ones suffer and die because of corrupt governments and injustice. They can afford to treat these themes as fiction because they don’t necessarily have to relate them to their own reality. But when people who have experienced these things firsthand see the Straw Hat flag as a symbol of resistance and freedom, why is they’re first reaction to police how other fans use it rather than understand why it resonates with them in the first place? And that’s what bothers me. Instead of trying to understand why people from completely different backgrounds see themselves in this story, they’re dismissing it as dangerous political rhetoric that might get one piece banned in these countries
