As an ER doc, it's no surprise that I deeply value stoic philosophy for dealing with crisis.
What is a (wild) surprise is joining @Oprah and @RyanHoliday on Oprah's podcast to talk about applying stoic thought in & out of emergencies.

I've attempted to map everything in oncology in a public website and open source repo for all.
The site is trying to get all cancers, products, technologies, bottlenecks, people, startup opportunities with 1000+ ideas for upgrading the field.
If you have a loved one with cancer and you are technical or can engineer, go take a look, file improvement requests or bugs or help with the open repo and make this the best open and free info resource for individuals, researchers and educational use.
This should save people time, aid AI oncology projects and generate positive action. If you are not technical just complain in this thread about broken or annoying or things you want and I'll fix them live.
Some of the interesting pages:
Treatments: onco.cc/drugs
A gallery of the molecules being used onco.cc/molecules/
And targets: onco.cc/targets/
The technologies in oncology: onco.cc/technologies/
1100 ideas for helping oncology: onco.cc/ideas/
Bottlenecks on oncology: onco.cc/bottlenecks/
Open questions (LETS GO RESEARCH PEOPLE) onco.cc/open-questions/
Startup requests (LETS GO STARTUP PEOPLE) onco.cc/startup-requests/
Mechanics of cancer: onco.cc/mechanics
Battlefronts: onco.cc/fronts/
Isotope supply: onco.cc/isotopes
Key papers: onco.cc/key-papers
Pipeline funnels: onco.cc/pipeline
Cancer by type: onco.cc/cancers/
Institutional rankings: onco.cc/institutions/
The startups: onco.cc/startups/
Heros and heroines : onco.cc/heroes/
Key medical people: onco.cc/people/
Here is the project roadmap: onco.cc/roadmap/
Models and data sets: onco.cc/models/
There are other views as well, take a browse.
Try making a PR if you have an upgrade to this on the repo here: github.com/judegomila/OnCo
If you are biologically/medically minded and something is wrong, file a bug as well or say on the thread and we will get it fixed live.
If this is a useful project star the repo and help get it calibrated.
I've tried to add some other languages but I cannot speak them so tell me if that doesnt work well.
I believe we will crack oncology and having total information dominance is key to the problem.
Let the feedback flow!

We should bucket the world's hardest problems and everyone start throwing spare tokens at them.
Solve cancer
Solve hunger

In 1843, Elizabeth Barrett Browning wrote to a friend after seeing her first daguerreotype: “The very shadow of the person lying there fixed for ever! … I would rather have such a memorial of one I dearly loved, than the noblest artist’s work ever produced.”
Our lives and homes are filled with things that once inspired similar awe. I tried to collect those feelings, in quotes like the one above, from people for whom what is now ordinary was brand new. A friar who met the inventor of eyeglasses, a founding father on the new smallpox vaccine, a woman in Iowa on her family’s first indoor bathroom. To look at a modern apartment through their eyes: ordinaryabundance.com
A lot of AI alignment work assumes human values hold still.
In an emergency, they don't. What we value changes fast, unevenly, and often invisibly.
Here's what that does to a human-AI team.
But how do we teach this to human-AI teams when:
we change only some values in a crisis, and often can't say which ones,
teams disagree on when crises start, and when to change to crisis values,
and the AI may not readily come with us when we rapidly realign.
If your team operates in and out of emergencies, this is already your problem, whether or not you've named it out loud.
Many more questions than answers.
New in @PsychToday, hope you enjoy.

Huge thank you to Oprah, Ryan, and the whole Harpo team for the chance to be a small part of this great conversation.
I will admit, having @Oprah call me a "philosopher in the emergency room" was not in my 2026 predictions - hope you enjoy the talk as much as I did!

So @Doctronic fixed primary care pricing.
A doctor visit that runs $150-300 uninsured? Ours is $39. No insurance needed (though we accept it if you want to use it), no surprise bill, no games, and a money back guarantee!
Oh and prescription renewals in Utah are $0 and are $19 nationwide.
But then our doctors order labs and it gets expensive again. E.g. CBC + CMP + lipid + A1c: ~$260 retail at the big labs, ~$130 at the cheapest shop I can find. Many Americans simply can't afford labs after a visit.
What startup is working on fixing this? America needs a Basic Wellness Panel for $40.
If you're solving this problem, DM me. I can send you 2,000 lab orders a week immediately to kickstart your business.
A critical AI system designed for human-AI teaming is not safe unless it remains safe when paired with the actual human operator, in the actual operational state, under actual pressure.
1/ In crisis, the org chart is almost never the real map.
When the pressure goes up, what matters is who can reach whom, who can move information, who can unlock action, and where the system gets stuck

2/ In Episode 136 of @TheEmergMind Podcast, I talk with @vbilgen about influence, operations, and the informal networks that shape performance in complex systems.
We get into brokers, bottlenecks, leverage points, choke points, and the connectors that crisis teams depend on.
3/ One of my favorite ideas from the episode:
The people holding the system together may also be the people most at risk of overload.

What does building trust with an AI system have to do with supervising a medical intern?
More than you'd think.

The intern analogy is real though. You probe the edges of what they know. You ask the critical questions. You give increasing autonomy as trust is earned. That structure translates. What doesn't translate is assuming the failure points will look familiar.
