The government is announcing today a plan to keep Drax Power Station running until 2031.
This is an investment in UK energy security. It will help keep the lights on, keep energy bills down for consumers and support a clean power system in 2030.

#COP28 day 5 – our CEO, Will Gardiner @ddwg, took part in a panel session, ‘The role of carbon dioxide removal to deliver on the Paris Agreement’, with @Equinor and @The_CCSA. 💬 🌍
The panel spoke about... ⬇️
🌿 How there is no net zero without #carbonremovals, such as #BECCS.
🗞️ The importance of developing standards for high integrity carbon removals.
Every fraction of a degree counts in the race to net zero, we need transformative policies and actions to achieve it. ⚡️
Today, more than 100 CEOs and senior executives from the World Economic Forum’s Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders have published an open letter to world leaders ahead of @COP28_UAE calling upon governments to scale up investments in renewable energy and implement policies that will help reduce emissions across global supply chains.
