The New York Yankees’ Domingo German threw a perfect game against the Oakland Athletics Wednesday night, the majors’ first perfecto since 2012. nonohitters.com/2023/06/28/y…

It is with a heavy heart to report that #AAGPBL star pitcher Jean Faut, passed away this morning. She was 98 years old. Jean was a 2x Player of the Year, 4x All-Star, and the only pro pitcher (either male or female) to toss two perfect games in a career.

Question for @Scottcantype: I was re-watching "The People vs. Larry Flynt" this weekend and see the rally announcer is credited on imdb.com as Eddie Davis. I keep rewinding that part and I swear it's John McLaughlin of The McLaughlin Group. Can you confirm or deny?

Maybe @WoodyHarrelson can shed some light. Was this John McLaughlin (of The McLaughlin Group fame) who introduced you at the rally in "The People vs. Larry Flynt"? It's credited on imdb as Eddie Davis, but Eddie Davis appears in no other films.

There's probably no easy way to confirm this, but my guess is the @Yankees no-hit bid today is the deepest to be started by three guys wearing uniform numbers in the 80s — Clarke Schmidt (86), Albert Abreu (84) and Deivi Garcia (83).

Honored to be quoted alongside @johansantana and so many other greats in @AnthonyDiComo's excellent oral history of that magic moment, 10 years ago tomorrow.
"Disbelief and the shedding of an albatross." Ten years later, Johan Santana's no-hitter remains one of the watershed moments of Mets history. Here is a complete oral history of that night, as told by those who lived it: mlb.com/mets/news/featured/j…
I love no-hit feats even when they start from the bullpen. Here's my latest @SABRGames story on a 1949 9-inning no-hit relief outing by the Philadlphia @Athletics' Bobby Shantz sabr.org/gamesproj/game/may-…

There’s been a WS no-no and a DS no-no, but no CS no-no.

Gave @remhq a shoutout in my New Yorker cartoon contest entry this week, though this may be the only time it's seen as I've missed getting picked as a finalist for some 80 weeks in a row. @m_millsey
Max Kranick of the #Pirates pitches a perfect game for 5 innings in his #MLB debut on Sunday. He was the first pitcher to achieve the feat since 1893. His reward? He is optioned today to Triple-A Indianapolis.
