Excited to be part of this team building the next generation of AI infrastructure! We're growing the team across the board, but DMs are open for networking engineering and infrastructure opportunities 👇
1/ Today, we announced Gimlet Labs’ $300M Series B, led by @a16z, joined by @SapphireVC as a major investor bringing our valuation to $3B. We started Gimlet with a simple conviction: inference would become the dominant AI workload, and its infrastructure would need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

The most important rule in AI engineering or agentic development is: hold your prompts accountable. Do this with tests, ensembles, data, your own eyes…Whatever. Figure out the important sites to put controls and put them there.

Gimlet has been named to the @Redpoint InfraRed 100, which honors companies building at the cutting edge of infrastructure. As data centers transform to meet the immense needs of agentic inference, it is an incredibly exciting time to be building in this space. Check out our Nasdaq photo, and congratulations to all of the companies featured!

Claude code's ability to debug bare metal server management is scary good. Had issues w/ a Supermicro BMC's virtual media where it couldn't fetch an ISO from a http server. These arcane problems were always difficult to debug, but claude got it in a one-shot.

In my case, my http server didn't support the features the BMC http client needed -- it was using httpfs2. While I have inspected packet captures in the past, having the answer in < 1 min is faster than I'll ever be able to do manually.

Coding agents have sparked my interest in dev tooling customization after having a ‘good enough’ setup for years Haven’t had this interest in tweaking my environment since getting vim/neovim pilled years ago.

Zero-instrumentation #eBPF tooling promises instant insights, but making it reliable and lightweight is a challenge. @ddelnano's #P99CONF talk in 20 minutes explains how to balance reliability and efficiency instead of choosing between them. ow.ly/kjQl50Xh3RR #ScyllaDB

Has anyone in the Performance Community utilized LLMs to discover potential bottlenecks in code in the way that @seanhn has used it to uncover security bugs? sean.heelan.io/2025/05/22/ho…

And I thought the keyword "ftrace" was going to give me high quality reddit/Hackernews tech posts.

I'm starting a series of "Pixie hacking" videos to show off ongoing @pixie_run development. The first of these is out today and walks through a query engine fix to prevent missing spans from certain short lived processes! Video link in the reply
