LAST CALL AT THE GAZEBO 😭
These were the final moments at The Gazebo Monday night, as owner Luke Tedeschi said goodbye to a gathering of loyal customers and longtime staff ahead of the closure of his establishment after 34 seasons in business.
While the property will likely reopen next year under a new operator chosen by Nantucket Island Resorts, it was the end of an era for Tedeschi and his team.
After addressing the crowd, Tedeschi drew the winning ticket for the last mudslide, served in a crystal chalice, which was was claimed by Spencer West, one of his bartenders and an island native. The raffle was a fundraiser for Addiction Solutions of Nantucket.
Monday marked the final night of the final season for the Gazebo as the island has come to know it. Steve Karp’s Nantucket Island Resorts declined to offer Tedeschi an extension of his lease after 34 years, or even give him an opportunity to match any offers from other bidders.
“This will be the last year of the Gazebo’s mudslide as we know it and the reason is because after this being the 34th season, I’ll be moving on because I did not get a lease renewal or even a lease renewal offer from the company that owns the real estate that I currently have a lease with, Nantucket Island Resorts (NIR),” Tedeschi told the Current in May. “You know, that’s the way that term leases are, but after all these years, I brought the mudslide to the Gazebo back in 1993, and this will be the last year of my formula and my mudslide as we’ve all got to know it, to enjoy it, and it’s become iconic.”
Everytime I’ve listened to @GregABedard on radio he’s actually supported Maye and strongly suggested he’s going to snap out of that early season funk. He’s just stating it how it has been these first few games.
I think Greg would tell you he believes Maye is going to be a good, franchise QB if he was asked that question. He’s just giving insight on what’s happening right now and what he’s seeing.
I have never understood the Greg Bedard hate. He’s entertaining to listen to when he’s on Felger & Mazz and provides good insight in his writing/podcasts. Always been one of my favorites to read and follow when consuming Patriots content

You have to think Zacha is on the way out. Doesn’t look himself out there early. In all sorts of trade rumors. Between Hagens, Minten, Poitras, and LeTourneau on the way, the talent they have at center is exciting.
Maybe Zacha can be flipped for assets that can be used to land an impact player to add to this developing core in a different area (LD, wing).
The Bruins have a chance to do what the Dallas Stars did a few years back of supporting their veteran core with an influx of young talent. Launched Dallas into becoming a true Cup contender even if they haven’t won.
I’m so impressed with how Matthew Poitras and James Hagens look.
The skill has always been there with those guys and is obvious the second you watch them but they’re making impacts in every area of the ice.
Poitras has clearly benefitted from the time he spent down in Providence and Hagens matured a lot over the summer.
Bruins have some young talent showing good signs early on. Hopefully it continues!
The kids have their fingerprints all over this early 3-0 lead for the Bruins. I’m surprised at how good James Hagens already is away from the puck. He’s gonna be a great player and it’s probably a big reason why Sweeney is shopping Zacha
