Yes, you read that right. He was charged with assaulting jailers while waiting to go to prison for a st*bbing, and he never served a single extra day for it. The father's name was John Donat, he was 58 years old. He was a former chef, originally from Ohio, who came to Texas about 10 years ago. He had battled drugs himself, police say he got sober and turned his life around, and John dedicated his life to helping people. He picked up food from the local food bank on Westheimer, cooked whatever he could, and handed it out outside the motel where he lived. Especially to people fighting the same demons he once fought. He was getting ready to move to South Carolina to be closer to family, but he never made it. On Wednesday, September 30th, at about 2:18 in the morning, John was in his Tahoe on Highway 6, handing food to a woman. Police say a man walked up to the passenger side and DEMANDED MONEY. John tried to drive away and he was SH0T in the neck. His Tahoe crashed through 2 fences and into a field, he passed away right there and then. Police caught the suspect nearby. His name is Otis Parks, he's a Black man that's 30 years old. In 2018, police say Parks ST*BBED a friend REPEATEDLY... after finding out his girlfriend's baby had diaper rash. He got 7 years in jail... out of a possible 20 years. While he sat in the Harris County Jail waiting to be shipped to prison, records show he was charged with FOUR MORE FELONIES. Assaulting jailers. Possessing contraband. And prosecutors DISMISSED every one of them. Their reason? "He was already serving time for the st*bbing." Zero extra days. Say his name. John Donat. Now, she's pleading NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY. Yes, you read that right. Their names were Darryl and Sharon Getman. He was 83, she was 80. They had been married for more than 20 years. On December 30th, a woman named Vickie Williams was seen wandering a retirement community. Security guards saw her. Cameras caught her multiple times. One resident was so unnerved by an encounter with her that they hit a panic alarm. ...then she knocked on the Getmans' door. She asked if she could use their shower and charge her cellphone. Darryl and Sharon Getman, 83 and 80 years old decided they should show some kidness... ...and they let her in. Sometime between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., prosecutors say Vickie Williams grabbed a kitchen knife and brutally m*rdered them both. A forensic pathologist testified they found of MULTIPLE wounds. Both had defensive wounds, meaning an 83-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife spent their final moments fighting for their lives. When police found Darryl, a butcher-style knife was still buried in his abdomen. There were bloody footprints through the house and out into the garage. Prosecutors say that after k*lling them, she WASHED HER CLOTHES in their laundry room while they She took their car keys. And at 2 in the morning, a camera photographed the Getmans' green Kia Soul rolling out of that retirement community. She drove it all the way to Savannah, Georgia. And when she turned up at a man's apartment in Georgia days later, here is what he testified, under oath, this week: "She told me she bought a new car." She LIED about it and he said she was rushing inside "like somebody was after her or something." She was arrested January 2nd at an Amtrak station in Savannah, still driving the couple's car. And now, almost four years later, her defense is that she was suffering from 'psychosis" and should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. 🚨DEAR GOD!!! A 76-year-old White woman has just been BEATEN TO DE*TH by a BLACK MALE who has an arrest record going back MORE THAN A DECADE... He punched her in the face OVER AND OVER and then robbed her and her husband who were out for a morning walk. Her name was Claudia Bismark, she was 76 years old. She and Wade Wilson, 60, were married in 1997. They had lived in Fells Point for more than 35 years and turned a century-old rowhouse into an art gallery with the door wide open to the neighborhood. At Vikki's Deli, she and Wade were known for RANDOMLY PAYING FOR STRANGERS' BREAKFASTS. They were known for saying: "Don't ring them up. I got the breakfast." All the time. On September 29th, they finished breakfast at Broadway Market like they had for years. Their waitress says a man walked past, looked them over, sat down at a table and watched them... and the second they left, he left too. At 9:30 in the morning, in the 1700 block of Fleet Street, surveillance video shows him come up behind them and shove them both to the ground. Claudia sat up. He punched her over and over in the face. Then he turned around, pulled Wade's wallet out of his pocket, and ran. In her friend Tammy's words: "She hit the ground, and she didn't wake up, she grabbed Wade's hand. She just never woke up from it." Two days later, on October 1st, Claudia passed away. Over a wallet. Oh, and it wasn't the police who found him. The NEIGHBORS did... walking Fells Point with printouts of the surveillance photo until somebody finally pulled them aside and said, "I actually know who that guy is. His first name is Tray." Police then arrested 32-year-old Montray McCray on South Carrollton Avenue and charged him with homicide, assault, robbery and reckless endangerment. His arrest history goes back MORE THAN TEN YEARS. Gun charges. Drug charges. Her friend Keya Little said: "There's no reason that a violent criminal should be given probation or three to four months in prison and they are repeatedly out here causing trauma to people."
