TLDR thoughts on the game 👇 Good win. Does not mean A&M is “back”. Not by a long shot. This is still a 1-2 sec team. Did what they had to do against Arkansas. But they HAD to have that one go that way if going to make ANYTHING out of this season. You HAD to feel good about things in this one to build off of. Mizzou looking LETHAL. What can they do with what they gained from the Arkansas game? What is the follow up? Rink starting and getting starter reps is huge. He is the best D Lineman on this team. Sanford getting a bigger workload, also huge for communication and cohesion. Byard getting a bigger role is important. Collins is a stud. Defense held Arkansas to a season low. Held Marshall in check. Good. Now what do you do with it? Offense. Ran the ball. Spammed it. Almost comically. I facetiously asked for 45 runs this game. Almost jokingly. Ran 49 times 😬 Completely committed to it. Especially in the first half. And we’re disciplined in sticking to it. Even when it go them in trouble inside the 10 getting one dimensional. KJ is a difference maker. OL was good besides at the GL. Kiotti getting more run and we saw why. Biggest thing was, A&M made them respect the run, and it turned into a few explosives in the second. That’s how we get explosives. Reed handled pocket better. Good protection mostly, but when there was pressure he was decisive. We take that. Ran Reed. Needed to. Still inaccurate on about 5 of his 19 balls. But manufactured some easy ones for big plays in the second. Still a long ways to go with this offense. Can’t be THAT one dimensional. But this is still a run first team. Especially when Morrow is back. Can’t wait for that. Liked seeing TK involved. Especially with Craver banged up and Bussey out. He can go. What I liked the most is that the team committed to a gameplan. Played hard. And get to FEEL a win after a terrible two weeks. It’s ALL about what they do with it. But they get to enjoy tonight.
