The next generation of engineers will not understand the hardship
Git never actually worked offline because you always had to look up the crazy commands on StackOverfow.

for the new Auto model in @raycast I came up with a spider/radar chart to allow users to compare the 3 preferences we offer: lightweight, balanced, and flagship. it's a tradeoff between speed, cost, and intelligence. it felt natural and fun to present the capabilities this way. wdyt?

Love the attention to detail @benoitgrelard puts into his work. Making dynamic colors readable across themes, extensions and user content is tricky. Some really nice before/after in this thread.
As part of this week's release of @raycast I shipped a bunch of improvements related to colour contrast adjustments. Let's look at the challenges Raycast faces and some examples of how we tackle them…

Can't believe it, he did it!
I’m thinking about banning Claude code at Shopify until they change their mind and read AGENTS.md and .agents/skills etc. Insisting on only reading CLAUDE.md sometimes leads to split brain problems when different team members use different tools. Just unnecessary.

You can now open whichever mail app you're using and ask Quick AI to "summarize this".
Introducing Screen Awareness 👀 You've been asking Raycast to just look at what's on your screen. Now it does. Send Focused Window to AI, or pick Screen Awareness from the @ menu. Available on Raycast v2 and Windows. Full changelog 👉 raycast.com/changelog/macos-…

Screen Awareness goes beyond screenshots. It has access to the app's structural content, and therefore also sees anything that's off-screen in scroll containers. Very handy when you don't want to bother with API access, etc.

Like with any advanced tool, you get the most out of Raycast when you invest some time initially. If you aren't sure how to do it, this article from Thomas offers some ideas.

We added notifications to Raycast when AI Chat finishes in the background. The Notification Center is a busy place for most people and we're conscious of that. Every chat only displays a single notification at a time, and when you get back to a chat, we remove its notification. So everything that Raycast shows in the Notification Center is relevant and up-to-date.

In case you aren't getting notifications despite having turned them on in Raycast, we detect some common issues and show a hint on how to recover. Like when notifications for Raycast are turned off in System Settings.

Many of our smaller features like this are driven directly by our users. In this case we took @CBayrea's feedback to heart to finally finally add notifications. xitter.cf/CBayrea/status/2075283… If you have some suggestions on how to improve Raycast, we're always happy to hear them!
notification might be helpful so you can easily navigate back to that chat with a click
