$TSLA Cybercab in 2026 is vaporware. While I am bullish on Tesla long term and am amazed at R&D that Musk has driven, I am realist. Cybercab biggest hurdle to adoption/growth speed is local driverless regulations. Focus on this path is lost $ for $TSLA shareholders!

Japan was surprised the markets with less hawkish 7-2 vote to hike 25bps. Indicating uncertainty and maybe prolonged period of 1.25% before the next possible hike. Compared that to the US which is expected to hike again in Oct and perhaps again in early 2027. Yen is weakening!

2/ Jpy 10yr is back over 3% as well (Inflation expectations). It’s interesting to see the U.S. market shift from bonds (higher yields) to stocks (rallying).

BOJ is up next (tonight/overnight ET time). They will also hike 25bps. Putting them just inline with US and other G7 central banks recent actions. Net-net, not marginally better tmr vs last month. Should we expect Yen weakness to continue? Or will they say or do something BIG?

Ex-FOMC Miran is rationalizing that Fed shouldn’t hike on CNBC now (11:08am). Current members can’t make any public statements so I find it very interesting when ex-Fed speak especially when market has a very strong view of near term FOMC action!
Markets seem to be done positioning/re-positioning ahead of tmr FOMC decision. 10yr Tsy yields topped out at 5.04% and is straddling close to 5%. CL oil futures topped out $104.95 and been largely consolidating since Thu’s breakout. Kalshi has 25bp hike at 87%

2/ Perhaps Warsh won’t disappoint markets (that is markets own him; instead of him leading Fed that in turn lead the markets). But perhaps he will want to show that markets shouldn’t expect to sway him away from the mild inflation data we had last week.

3/ At 13% no hike odds, I’ll take a small piece of this action.

No stopping it! Oil climbed all day and future are over $104! Tsy yields also didn’t stop climbing and is now less than 4bps from 5%! Maybe I’m wrong and we might get over 5% tomorrow or well ahead of FOMC!
Oil is climbing with CL/futures breaking over $99. I’ve been eyeing $100 for a week or so. 10yr Tsy yield is still climbing towards 5.0% (4.88% as the moment). Not sure it will get to 5% before FOMC. But it sure looks like that is where it wants to go.

JPY .. what level will we see Yen carry trade unwind debacle? Despite the doomers, we still aren’t seeing any major (ie greater than 7% drop) U.S. stock market impact from Yen strengthening.

/2 150 could be a big psychological level with some technical support little below it. 140 has been a long running support from 2024-2025.

Interesting that S&P looks like 2/3-3/4 of the names are green despite the index is red

Chips and memory perpetual futures are up a hit while CL and S&P seem flat. JPY touch weaker. Perhaps a touch higher at today’s futures open but maybe negative by or in Monday’s open.

3b/ Treasury bonds (10+yrs) are directly impacted by Tsy/Bessent intervention and Trump suggesting people buy bonds. Although this could be short lived bump.

3c/ Oil will have larger impact by Iran conflict then from debasement. While debasement might put upward pressure on CL, CL was below $60 last year so $85 is still elevated.

$JPY Yen deterioration is slow in recent days but still walking up to 160 level. I got my popcorn to see what happens when the markets topple 160 later this week.

How does VIX keep drifting down even though risk assets are down? $QQQ $BTC Is the whole market very complacent on down days; still strongly buy-the-dip mentality?

I just heard on CNBC buy-the-dip rationale. Closer to what was said... Stay invested, when the markets goes down, it goes right back up. She didn't say buy the dip. However if you believe any sell off bounces right away, that would be buy-the-dip mentality.
