Unpopular opinion, but I’d LOVE to see Aaron Boone manage the San Diego Padres when his time in New York is done! 💯⚾️
Having played for Boone, I can tell you what fans don’t always see. He’s an ELITE communicator, holds guys accountable behind closed doors without embarrassing them publicly, and makes players believe in themselves even when nobody else does.
Managing the Yankees comes with pressure most people will NEVER understand. He’s handled those pinstripes to the best of his ability.
Boone is a tremendous leader of MEN, and I truly believe Padres players and fans would LOVE and APPRECIATE what he brings to that clubhouse.
Say what you want about Boone. I know the man behind the manager.
That’s my opinion, and I’m STANDING ON IT!

Buckle up...
It is reported by @PabloTorre today that the huge $8.35B Dodgers TV deal was negotiated directly by Walter (owner of the regional media company, American Media Productions)… to Walter (owner of the Dodgers), reportedly before he acquired the Dodgers and seemingly contingent on him doing so. This let Walter bid ~$700M above the next-highest offer, despite it being reported at the time that he had no secured media deal in hand.
Time Warner Cable was the counterparty that agreed to pay AMP $8.35B over 25 years for the rights to distribute SportsNet LA, a deal that backed the whole structure. It was brokered by David Rone, then President of Time Warner Cable Networks. Industry experts questioned the logic of that inflated price for years, it drove the local blackouts, and it became a real risk on Time Warner's books ahead of its eventual sale to Charter Communications. Rone was later hired by... Walter into Guggenheim as a managing partner, a role he still holds today.
The deal required such high fees to be charged to local cable that roughly 70% of Dodgers fans were blacked out for years because providers wouldn't pay it. Then in 2015, Walter sold Magic Johnson a controlling stake in an insurance company (EquiTrust), reportedly as repayment for Johnson's help winning the 2012 Dodgers bid... an insurance company that then helped fund the payments to the Dodgers through a loan under the deal Walter negotiated with himself.

Mark Walter (Dodgers controlling owner) should not be allowed to fund deferred contracts though Guggenheim Partners (GP), the financial services firm that he is also the CEO. He is using the Dodgers' money to make more money through GP. This should be addressed in the new CBA

@BobbyMilone29 I told you as well as many others that the way the Dodgers were paying people via deferred payment were fishy and BS , I choose then not to get in to the details. But you know the pushback I got. Watch what goes on the next 6 months

Brian Cashman said Aaron Boone "does a great job" and is still the right fit to manage the Yankees.
"Nothing different than I've always seen. I think he's a very hard worker, very well connected. I think he's prepared. I think he's pulling every lever he possibly can pull."

Congratulations to Yankees SVP & GM Brian Cashman on his induction to the New York State Baseball Hall of Fame today 👏

I've given credit to Cash all yr, losing an MVP type player after winning a pennant, losing a CY Young pitcher, losing ROTY Gil for 4 months, he really put together a strong roster after all that....but Boone should get some props for the way they've turned things around too

No clue what will happen in the next three hours, BUT:
In my lifetime as a Carolina fan, there has never been a day like this for @UNCFootball.
Perfect weather.
Tailgating everywhere. Fans flooding Franklin Street. High-fiving strangers.
Eyes of the entire sports world on Chapel Hill.
A palpable crackle everywhere you go in town.
A-list names and a sellout crowd inside Kenan Stadium, which has concert-like electricity.
What we learned today is that it's possible. This can happen. Chapel Hill can be a place that vibrates on football gameday.
The next task is making this happen consistently six or seven times per year. And the product on the field has to match the environment. That challenge starts now.

Spankings ? No post game meals ? Have their iPhones taken away ? It’s 2025 and these players make 1m-40m, you don’t discipline players. What MLB mgr is a disciplinarian ?
Replying to @dbscharf @FoulTerritoryTV
It all starts with the coach/manager. These players need to be held accountable, more disciplined
