We spent the weekend checking various local sites for Willow Emerald Damselflies. We have found them hard to find this year. Presumably affected by the hot, dry weather. Only 2 at Godmersham and 5 at Shirley Moor. The latter site normally produces dozens.
A few from the past few days. Many thanks to Sean Clancy for the viewing of Paracorsia repandalis. Probably 4th for Kent. Also Ni Moth and a beautiful pink Vestal. A distant Glossy Ibis seen from RSPB. The usual Cattle Egret and Great White Egrets. Many Clouded Yellows still.
A good day at Dungeness in beautiful weather. Pectoral Sandpiper eventually showed from Firth Lookout after giving us the run around. 3 Clouded Yellows, 8 Cattle Egrets and 3 Great White Egrets. Thanks to Richard W, 17 Balearic Shearwaters sitting on the sea & 3 Arctic Skuas.
