CNN is out in college campuses informing college students that thousands of books have been banned in schools by the Trump Admin, shocking the students
NEVER ONCE do they mention what the books are about, so I looked it up:
Here is the subject matter of the books being banned IN SCHOOL
- Illustrated sexual content. Gender Queer, the title that launched a lot of this, is a graphic memoir with drawings of masturbation, strap-on sex, and sexual fantasy
- Young-adult novels with graphic sex, rape, or sex trafficking. This year’s most frequently removed title was Sold, about a 13 year old sold into sexual slavery, with on-the page depictions of the abuse. Speak (sexual assault of a high-school girl) was second. Ellen Hopkins novels such as Crank, Tricks and Identical drug use and explicit sex are regulars.

She has cancer. She did everything she was asked to including Chemo, additional tests and seeing the multiple specialists required for surgery. Unfortunately because the way healthcare works in Canada, the process took so long that her tumor has now spread and she’s no longer a candidate for surgery

What’s crazy is I found this is not uncommon in Canada, and can actually even take much longer than this
On the faster end for high priority major cancer it takes 6–12 weeks from the “we think we can operate” meeting to the OR, plus 4–8 weeks of extra tests beforehand

Slower provinces can take 6–12 months or more. Quebec’s public lists show thousands waiting for obstetric, gynecologic surgery. The lists show hundreds of people already past 6–12 months mark in waiting

Tom Burnett grew up in Bloomington, was the quarterback at Bloomington Jefferson, graduated from the Carlson School at the University of Minnesota, and on the morning of September 11 he was a passenger on Flight 93.
He called his wife Deena four times from that plane. She told him about the towers. On the last call, he told her that he and the other passengers had decided to take the plane back. His final words to her were “Don’t worry, we’re going to do something.” They did. Flight 93 never reached Washington. Tom was among the nearly 3,000 people killed twenty-five years ago today.
I was activated as a U.S. Marine shortly after 9/11 alongside thousands of young men and women who didn’t look like me, pray like me, or come from where I came from, and every one of us had sworn the same oath: to support and defend the Constitution. Because the attacks were never only about buildings. They were an attack on America itself, and on the idea that defines it: that all of us are created equal and free, that we govern ourselves, and that our rights can’t be taken away.
That idea held on a field in Pennsylvania. It is still standing today.
We remember the fallen. And we honor Tom Burnett the way I hope he’d recognize: by continuing the fight.

For decades, Washington has passed laws that push far beyond the powers the Constitution actually gives the federal government.
And we the people have tolerated it.
The Constitution was not written to tell Americans what government may allow us to do. It was written to tell government what it is forbidden to do.
“Shall not be infringed.”
The federal government seems to think we the people need its permission.
It’s the exact opposite.
Government derives its power from the consent of the governed.
We are not subjects asking permission from our rulers.
They are public servants operating under a Constitution that limits their power.
Maybe it’s time we start holding them to it.
