I know it shouldn't be the thing that matters but this change to "X" is the nail in the coffin for me. (It's not really the thing that matters, but it is the last straw). Combined with the increase in unwanted content, the departure of people I follow, etc, it's time to go.
I'll probably continue to read for a while at least, but I'll no longer be making posts on this site, and eventually I hope to move away from it altogether. I'll update my Github profile with new accounts in case anyone wants to keep following.
Looks like someone got Dinit working on ... Windows!
Replying to @lucyllewy
@diddledani remember some time ago, we played with @ChimeraOS_Linux on WSL?
Thanks to the "systemd" property (which actually launches /bin/init), here's the latest rootfs with dinit working.
@bitcrazed BSD userland on WSL, something you might like 😇

When a politician resorts to name-calling, it brings into question whether they have any legitimate argument at all. It's an indicator that spite has priority - often over rationality and truth.
REVEALED: Clueless Cassidy’s footpath manifesto… rip down thousands of trees and rob Brisbane residents of their right to be consulted. #noconcretejungle

Given the amount of interest a tweet showing a photo of an empty cycle lane got, I thought it's a good time to bust out this one again.
Cycle lanes and footpath don't appear congested as they (mostly) allow people to move through quickly and efficiently.

With our integration of SLSA provenance generation in Micronaut, it's now harder to launch supply chain attacks. See our blog post on using Macaron to automatically analyze Micronaut artifacts used as dependencies: blogs.oracle.com/developers/… Macaron: github.com/oracle-samples/ma…

Unfortunately Brisbane council are too busy complaining about state & federal government to have time to actually fix the footpaths
A team at Oracle is currently being put together to develop static analysis tools. It's a niche area but an interesting one. If you have experience in or genuine interest that area, and good software development skills, it might be a good fit for you. DM me for more info.
Car drivers will complain bitterly about how cyclists flout the road rules, just before they turn into a side street that a pedestrian is trying to cross without giving way
Brisbane, Elizabeth St. Cycle path and crossing. You must ride on left (see painted arrows). Guess which side the button to activate the crossing is on? 🤦
And exactly the same problem on the other side as well 🤦🤦
I'm very glad to see that this has been fixed!
I'll be recommending against use of the meson build system until this gets fixed: github.com/mesonbuild/meson/…
(Yep, I did something stupid, but the guard rails that should be there are definitely missing)

one of the things i dont “get” about rustc is why can’t you index out of bounds. c gives me “bonus data” but no. rustc always jsut gives me shit
Brisbane has terrible pedestrian and cycling infrastructure and the lord mayor is, I'm not even kidding, planning to reduce travel times with flying fucking taxis

People will complain bitterly about integer overflow having undefined behaviour in C and still not compile their code with -fwrapv
