Flying with Virgin Atlantic for the first time in a long time and just now noticing how the class system infiltrates everywhere - their first class is called Upper Class...Feels jarring when announcer is calling for all upper class to board first!
Damage caused by oppression comes up in unexpected places. A South Asian older person @philharmonia Hear&Now project expressed how 'karma' caused her blindness & suffering. I listened to her pain, then heard her read a poem she wrote about "losing her sight but not her vision".
For those of you at the @musictherapyuk #BAMT2024 conference, this is the amazing lawyer / author who wrote The Last Colony which explained how we are still in the era of colonisation. Being from Mauritian heritage, I knew nothing of this until this book. @MdCMusicTherapy

I'm finding more and more that when racism shows up, in its subtle and insidious ways, the big broom of supremacy to maintain the status quo is very quick to appear. Not everyone can see the big broom either.
