For many remembering this day is easy. We know where we were, what we were doing, and how we felt when we first heard of the attacks and all that followed. For approximately 108 million Americans, they cannot remember this moment for they were not born when it occurred. Thus, remembering collectively is not the same for all. For many it was the moment that changed the world. For many others, it is a lesson touched on in history class. Perhaps on this day, 25 years later, we can take a moment to seek to remember well, honor those who lost their lives, celebrate those who stepped up heroically, and talk together about the importance of remembering well and why we must. The world changed on 9/11/2001 and perhaps those who do remember would be well served to share with those who cannot how the world changed. Share about the shock, the emotions, the anger, the fear, the confusion, but also about the hope and the heroes. It is much easier to say "Never forget" than to actually remember well. #september11
