How on earth is this in any way "news"? Trump supporter in shock "Trump would make better president than Trump's opponent" outrage

It is unbelievably sad that in Ireland an International conference on Antisemitism was marred by the very JewHate it is seeking to combat before it had even started. Here is a verbatim report of what happened. It should be shared worldwide and @HerbertParkH should be very very ashamed. @WorldJewishCong

After the Green Party's "Zionism is Racism" vote, the Leader of Haringey Council, which is controlled by the Greens, wrote to various Synagogues in the borough to "reassure" them. I want to show you Highgate Synagogue's reply. I believe it is worth reading in its entirety.

I have been trying to work out why the Carlson—Rees-Mogg interview is going viral. I think it’s because because it represents the moment when traditional conservatism, defined by courtesy, self-restraint and truth, visibly overcomes the feverish, conspiracist and bellicose post-liberal Right. Sir @Jacob_Rees_Mogg was the perfect instrument of destruction. He is a man of unquestioned sincerity, intellect and courtliness. He was one of only two Ali G interviewees to emerge with his reputation enhanced, the other being Tony Benn, and for the same reason: utter sincerity. With Tucker, as with the brilliant Baron-Cohen, he bats away feverish, crackpot claims in a calm, measured and devastatingly gracious way. What ended McCarthyism was the dignified put down delivered by the Army’s lawyer, Joseph Welch, on live TV in June 1954: “Senator, you have done enough. Have you no sense of decency?” Joe McCarthy died three years later at the age of 48, broken and disgraced. As Welch to McCarthy, so Mogg to Tucker.

Anyone able to explain what this is all about?
🇫🇷 Mass riots are continuing in France More than 400 schools are fully closed today over damage and threats to staff. Pupils have been moved to remote learning. Despite bans on gatherings outside closed lycées, protests and clashes with police have been running since morning in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Rennes, and other cities. Lyon is one of the tensest spots. In Paris this morning, fire damaged the entrances of at least two lycées. In Aubervilliers, a group of young people tried to force the gates of a lycée. Police responded with a large amount of tear gas. The worst violence on the previous day was in Marseille. A young man with his face covered set an aerosol spray alight and aimed the flame at a woman’s face. She was burned. The same day, several hundred young people surrounded a fire truck at Lycée Saint-Exupéry. Firefighters had to abandon it. The vehicle was looted and set on fire. Unknown attackers also surrounded an M6 journalist, beat him, and smashed his camera with a hammer. In Manosque, protesters reached city hall. On October 1 a pyrotechnic round flew into the building, hit an upper-floor office, and started a fire. Strasbourg shut down its entire tram network, officially to limit rioters’ movement. Clashes with police resumed there today. The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region alone puts preliminary damage to schools, grounds, and attacked vehicles at €25–30 million. Since the protests began, 65 education staff have been hurt, including 40 school directors, along with 170 pupils.

Genocidal air strikes ? They were still recovering the shock of the attack at Nova and people were geared up to protest their genocide the very next day - when they had barely retaliated.

So am I correct to begin to surmise that the 5 arrested in the UK were perhaps simply fuel thieves dumb enough to go about their enterprise in an area with heightened security? And that Trump is talking nonsense? (so no change there?)

Michaelmas. I think I want to be increasingly assertive that the figure we briefly meet as Michael is the eternal Son. Michael means "who is like God?". Well I know a guy...

Freedom of speech is an important cornerstone of our liberal democracy and, along with it, the right to criticise and even ridicule religious belief. But public funding for such expression? And when we're concerned about social cohesion? sydneycatholic.org/divine-pl…

"I don't understand the controversy". I find this remarkable. Mark Driscoll was exposed to be a bully when pastoring Mars Hill Seattle. Rather than gladly accepting discipline he avoided it. He then went on to plant another church. 1Tim 5:17-25 etc
