I think we just need to stop for a moment and consider how shockingly authoritarian it is for the ruling body of the British state to be ORDERING an opposition party - under threat of state repression - to change not only its policies but its entire internal governance structure.

The Labour Party has asked all Labour groups in power-sharing agreements with the Green Party to review their arrangements in local government after the prime minister's words at PMQs yesterday.
Bridget Phillipson MP, Chair of the Labour Party, said:
“The Prime Minister has been completely clear: this policy is wrong and antisemitic, and has no place in British politics.
“Where local Labour Parties currently have an arrangement with the Greens in local government, we expect their Green counterparts to make clear that they reject this position and to call on their national leadership to reconsider the policy.
“We have asked local Green groups to respond as a matter of urgency. Where they are unable to provide that assurance, Labour will bring any such local arrangement to an end. This isn’t an issue of party politics; it’s about doing what is right and upholding the values anyone holding public office should share.
“The Labour Party fought hard to address antisemitism within our own party and ensure it had no place in our politics. We have a responsibility to uphold those same standards in our relationships with other parties.”

She spoke to me about her child patients, many of whom were shot in the head or chest by the Israeli army; about Israel's preventing doctors from bringing aid or vital medical equipment with them into Gaza, hindering doctors’ ability to save Palestinian lives; about the (preventable) malnutrition and starvation she saw amongst Palestinian civilians, as well as the preventable water and sanitation-related diseases contributing to “indirect deaths” in Gaza.

In this clip, Hillary Clinton floats the possibility that Netanyahu deliberately allowed the 10/7 attack to go forward so that he could capitalize on it and strengthen his political position.
Given all the evidence we have, it is very difficult to escape that conclusion. That even Hillary Clinton is willing to voice it is rather extraordinary.
