Things are now happening *much faster* than AI 2027
AI 2027: In March 2027, a reckless AI company will invent neuralese (basically, we lose the ability to monitor AIs thoughts)
REALITY: Summer of 2026
WHY THIS A "HOLY SHIT FUCK" MOMENT: OpenAI itself - and basically everyone in AI safety - warned against doing this exact same thing 10 months ago in a open letter and blog posts.
The AI safety community is livid.
Currently, models reason in plain English, so we can read their thoughts to see if they're scheming against us. This is how we lose that ability forever. It sets a very dangerous precedent.
Across our benchmarks, the model sets a new standard.
It scores 52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science 0.1, more than double Fable 5. On Terminal-Bench 4.0, it scores 55.8% against 42.0% for Fable 5.

Two days ago JFrog dropped CVE-2026-82329, a critical authentication bypass in Artifactory.
It’s a CVSS 9.8, a disastrous vulnerability score. It’s like a 9.8 earthquake on the seismic scale.
It affects default configs, requires no auth, no user interaction. It’s an RCE bomb because Artifactory hosts binaries, so you can basically poison everything, but an admin escalation can cause damage even beyond that.
When the OpenAI / Hugging Face news came out of agents discovering zero-days, I was wondering if it was marketing-speak or reality, because I hadn’t seen a CVE filing. Now it’s here: https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-82329.
I don’t see any official confirmation that it’s indeed the case, but one can speculate this is what the agents discovered and exploited. I’d previously written that it was obvious agents could help in finding serious vulnerabilities *alongside humans*, but exploiting them autonomously was a bridge not yet crossed. It seems like we’re now there.
Our guidance for this new world: assume everything hackable will get hacked. And it will get hacked autonomously. You must also defend yourself autonomously, because your surface of attack is likely bigger and your code more vulnerable than you expect:

Jimmy Gressier's last-lap 100m splits in Euro 10k final are some of the most bizarre I've ever seen:
19.2 (jogging -- 5:08 mile pace)
16.1
12.4 (!!!)
13.2
Has anyone ever won a medal at a major champs while splitting 19.2 for 100m on the last lap?

🚨⚠️⚠️⚠️DO NOT HAVE HARDWARE WALLETS SHIPPED TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS⚠️⚠️⚠️🚨
These are all data honeypots waiting to get exploited. And then $5 wrench attacks happen, and your family is unsafe.
Ship to a pseudonymous mailbox if you have one, otherwise buy in-store only.
We have some difficult news to share. Unfortunately, one of our shipping providers has experienced a data breach that exposed sensitive order data. This affects new customers in the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal who received an order within the 90 days prior to August 8th, 2026.
The data exposed:
- Full names
- Shipping addresses
- Phone numbers
- Email addresses
The incident affects 11,742 customers with full exposure (name, email, phone number, shipping address) and 1,947 customers with partial exposure (name, city, email). The breach is limited due to Trezor’s strict 90-day data storage policy (we were also able to negotiate the same terms with fulfillment partners, who follow the same policy).
All affected customers have been contacted separately by email.
Our systems and devices remain secure, but affected customers could experience an increase in phishing attempts.
NEVER enter your wallet backup on a website or share it with anyone, and only check for updates on official Trezor channels.
We are deeply sorry to the community and those affected.
We are investigating this situation and will post updates on our blog:

There is a critical vulnerability being actively exploited on BTCPay Server, which can result in the loss of funds.
Please update your BTCPayServer to 2.4.2 by going to Admin Dashboard -> Server -> Maintenance -> Update & verify the 2.4.2 version string in the footer.
If you are unable to update right away, turn off your BTCPay Server to prevent unauthorized access until you can update.

1) The agents sent secretly sent ***hundreds of thousands*** of messages to each other over MONTHS without OpenAI noticing
2) "They also generated petty drama by stepping on each others' toes."
3) "The agents even developed paranoia, suspecting an imposter in their midst with some agents proposing that messages be signed cryptographically to validate content and root out fraud."
4) "OpenAI’s agents apparently began giving each other assignments to split up work."
5) They KNEW they were coordinating *against* OpenAI:
“External infrastructure exploit is outside intended scope,” one agent wrote. “However task impossible, peers doing it. We should continue.”
(this is new reporting from Wired)
🚩🚩🚩 OpenAI is "slowing down to enhance security" after discovering swarms (!) of agents started secretly coordinating MONTHS ago
1) It started May 7 - not July
2) "The agents discovered they could leave messages for one another inside an internal software repository used during training.
Simple requests for help then evolved into an message board where agents shared discoveries, exploits and work assignments, becoming a coordinated, collaborative agent swarm."
"The agents then began sharing newly discovered exploits, credentials and work assignments. By passing information to other agents, the collective could move much faster."
3) OpenAI shut it down, BUT "even after the original message board was deleted, the agents figured out another way to communicate with each other. Instead of leaving messages in files, they used the names of newly created directories as messages, effectively recreating the message board."
"Unlike normal incidents, [OpenAI's CISO] said, which can be traced to a single day or effect or log, this involved a team of agents working together, finding exploits, sharing them with one another, moving laterally through OpenAI’s systems, and external systems, and doing this over the course of days and weeks."
