I am pro-Ukraine. It’s a deeply Christian country. The pro-Ukrainian position was for the US to bring 🇺🇦 oligarchs to heel. Instead the best men of the country were sent to slaughter while the laptop class (over 600,000) fled when war broke out, or paid off draft officers.

One of my pet theories is that political leaders are more willing to kill their own populations in wars if they’re foreigners without real affinity to the people dying. Napoleon was Corsican who spoke French with an accent. Hitler was an Austrian who knew multiracial Vienna better than Prussian Berlin. Stalin was from Georgia, and sent millions of Russians to death.
It is not a good idea to let anyone who isn’t rooted at least 3 generations deep anywhere near political power.

We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

How long would Stefan Molyneux last if he discussed average IQ by country, what that should mean for immigration policy?
David C. retweeted
When a Somalian with an above average IQ of 85 immigrates to England, the average IQ of both England and Somalia decreases.
Both nations get dumber

Blaming the riots in Paris on Islam creates a false dialectic and is actually cowardly. The issue is low IQ people cannot live, unmonitored, in societies they lack the capacity to build. Everyone is too afraid of saying this and instead push slop.

I do not understand how a man can be a leader in a marriage if he is not allowed to address his wife's behavior in the marriage.
Is a CEO not allowed to fire employees for bad behavior? Does a father never discipline his kids? Do friends not check each other's actions? Why is a wife any different? Why is a husband just supposed to learn to be at peace with whatever he gets?
The masculine loves by loving a person's highest potential. On some level, a husband thus does not love his wife and is not showing "frame" when he allows her to fall into patterns of control, to close up her heart and intimacy. If he refuses to offer his truth to her, he is depriving her. It is not a noble sacrifice, it is a cowardly act.
Women are not untouchable and are not devoid of problems - yet the subtext here is that a woman's problems are immaterial to the health of the marriage. The implication is because he's "the leader," the man's sins are the ones that matter, and so he should only focus on his own behavior to fix things.
I understand of course you can only control your own actions, and yes this is where you need to start. But you can also control what you put up with. Yet though it's implied a man should persevere indefinitely, I have never heard a coherent argument made why - except perhaps some moralizing that he is a bad "Christian leader" if he doesn't.
Are you a bad Christian if you lock your doors at night so people don't rob you? The argument is not materially different. Both involve enabling energy thieves. A wife can be (and often becomes, without good boundaries) a parasite, and you are painfully naive if you think otherwise.
Everything you say in here about not operating in a transactional manner with your actions is correct. You cannot give to get; that's just nice guy behavior, even if its presented as taking the lead.
But the reality is once a man gets to the point of actually being free of a woman's validation - i.e. he shows up for himself, not her approval - he also becomes free of the need to be with her altogether. Her power games and intimacy blocs become disinteresting; he has risen above the pattern. She needs to rise above it with him now, or he will lose interest in her and the marriage entirely.
I have walked this path and have walked it with other clients, and it's why I'm suspicious of the claims that simply getting to this point of emotional zen in a marriage fixes everything, and that just like that a woman becomes a sex freak.
Because the zen that releases attachment to the pattern also releases attachment to the woman still stuck in the pattern.
She needs to change at this point if she wishes to keep you invested in her. But she will only understand what that change requires of her if you, the man, speak the truth of it into her heart.
This is your core gift as a man: to call out, to create clarity, to raise the standards not simply of behavior but connection. I do not understand why it is considered a virtue to deprive your woman of it, or conversely to squander it on a woman who doesn't value it. God creates consequences to actions because consequences correct and force growth. When you spare a woman the potential of losing you, you enable the worst of her to bloom; like weeds in an unpruned garden, until all the flowers are overrun.
'If I become more masculine, my wife will become warm, admiring and sexually receptive.'
No.
The problem is that he's trying to become masculine in order to get a result from her, not pursuing virtue for its proper good.
'I will lead if this makes you soften' is still a transaction.
And when the expected reward doesn't arrive, resentment follows:
'I've done everything right. Why isn't she attracted to me?'
'I've become decisive. She's still critical.'
His strategy collapses because it was secretly built on control all along.
Virtue has to become unconditional.
A husband should grow in courage because courage is good.
Do his duties because they're his duties.
Love his wife because she's his wife.
He should become a better husband because that's what he ought to become for God first and for himself next.
And he can HOPE this helps his wife flourish.
But he shouldn't become masculine *so that* she becomes feminine.
Because there's a limit to what one spouse can cause in another.
A husband can become more trustworthy.
He can create conditions that make trust easier.
He can become steadier, more courageous, more responsible, and more loving.
He can remove many of the obstacles his own weakness has placed in the way of his wife's receptivity.
But he *can't* cause her free response from within.
That means he can't control trust, admiration, warmth or receptivity in her will.
And there's a spiritual danger when he forgets that limit.
He begins implicitly attributing to himself a power he doesn't possess.
He thinks that if he gets his masculinity right, he can engineer an interior act of another person's will.
But that can easily become pride because pride exceeds the proper measure of our excellence.
And a husband exceeds his proper measure when he acts as though becoming sufficiently strong, disciplined, attractive, or masculine gives him dominion over his wife's interior response.
Her will isn't his domain.
God can reach the will in a way a husband cannot.
God can move a person from within by grace while preserving that person's freedom.
As Aquinas says, God moves the will as its first source, yet the will itself still acts and isn't coerced.
So there's something almost godlike in the husband's fantasy that, if he perfects the right technique, he can produce the interior response he wants from his wife.
Humility, by contrast, returns him to reality and the acceptance of his limit.
A husband can lead.
Love.
Repent.
Become trustworthy.
Remove obstacles.
Invite a response.
Pray for his wife.
But he can't govern her soul.
He must become the man he ought to be and leave the interior government of his wife's heart to God.

When I first moved to LA I thought taco trucks/stands were kind of cool and then you quickly realize that:
> They're all subsidized by SNAP/EBT fraud
> They're all destroying brick and mortar local restaurants because they don't deal with fees, taxes, and regulations
> They're all fronts for human and drug trafficking
Where I live there are about 2 dozen stands in a 3 mile radius, ALL OF THEM use the exact same zelle/venmo ID for payments because they are essentially gangs of organizations that use tacos as a front for their criminal activities.
I've told LA natives this and many of them look at me like I'm fucking insane but they literally kidnap Mexicans in TJ and use them as indentured servants until they pay off their debts and then drop them off somewhere else.
This is literally INSANE 🚨

In a democracy unelected judges decide your immigration policy instead of your elected executive because democracy is fake and gay

What are you talking about? We gave California the names, addresses, and DOBs of the noncitizens we've identified. We have their alien files at @USCIS, which contain their immigration status. If California has evidence showing they are in fact citizens, we would love to see it. This shouldn’t be political. We’re enforcing federal laws passed by Congress.
First, they offer no evidence to try to block 20,000 ballots from being counted. Now, the Trump Administration is threatening California election officials with criminal investigations without any legal basis.
The Constitution gives states the authority to administer elections — not Donald Trump. California won’t be bullied, and every eligible voter has the right to vote and have their vote counted.
