On the first day of the Battle of the Somme, 19,000 British soldiers were sent to their deaths - forced to march into a flurry of machine gun fire, and shot by their own officers if they refused.
War reduces humans to cannon-fodder.
Remember that this #RemembranceDay.
Non of these people have seen active duty. Especially Charles almost ruined a small war ship taking it to shallow waters as a commander. And yet they all wear about 100 medals each and they have no shame. They actually wear them Infront of real soldier's , heroes without any shame. The British military is in its worst shape and these people hardly care. They only care to dress up as soldiers.

Lest we forget. Men & Women from 26 Nations fought & died for our freedom. ALL of them deserve to be remembered.

They demand that people respect British traditions.
Then, when people at an asylum hotel display poppies and honour the war dead, they complain.
At what point does it become obvious that respecting British traditions was never the real issue?

White Feather's anyone?
Half the population would refuse to fight for this country under any circumstances.
We no longer trust our politicians to work in our interests.
This isn't news.
This is propaganda on behalf of the military industrial complex.
Brits who avoid WW3 call-up could face 'shame' and even employment issues

The UK has no conscription and the government has no plans to reintroduce it. The article speculates on hypothetical future scenarios which it states are not currently being contemplated.

This is the same Labour Government letting B52 bombers take off from British soil to bomb Iran - while people here at home pay the price of Trump's illegal war in spiking energy prices.
Warm words about ending the war won't cut it - Burnham must end the UK's participation.

The worst thing about being alive in the UK is watching millions of naive idiots voting against their interests, having zero interest in protesting against the injustice they allowed, and ruining all our lives in the process.
Can we stop treating people who work in cleaning, caregiving, or other poorly paid jobs as though they’ve somehow failed at life? Society depends on their work every single day. Your salary tells me what the market pays you. It doesn’t tell me how much respect you deserve.

Kemi Badenoch, "6 million people are on out of work benefits. That cannot be right"
My view:
Who are they? People with serious illnesses or disabilities. Carers. Parents looking after young children. People who have lost their jobs or are trying to find work.
“On out-of-work benefits” describes people in very different circumstances. It does not tell us that they are lazy, exploiting the system or choosing not to work.
DWP itself says people may claim out-of-work benefits because of unemployment, ill health or disability, or caring responsibilities.
So when you point to six million people and say “that cannot be right”, you risk turning a complicated set of problems into a charge against the people caught up in them.

I need to understand why it is always the least well off that are targeted to bail out the UK.
We have billionaires dodging taxes, MPs claiming outrageous expenses and covid fraud that reads like a triple Power Ball rollover.
Why not target these disgraces.

The reason that everyone under 65 cannot really appreciate the magnitude both economically and socially of Thatcher's destruction, is because they weren't there before it.
They cannot appreciate how low State owned bills were and the service received.

My Papa Joe is turning in his grave.
He lied about his age to join up in The Great War, and was injured in the Somme. That is likely what saved his life, as he was returned to Blighty and only had mess duties after that.
I remember him telling us about how they were carrying him off the battlefield on a stretcher when the shelling started again, and the two men carrying him dropped him and ran, leaving him there watching as ordnance exploded around him.
He was really lucky to survive.
If he was alive today he would probably thump this bloke. These people are not what he risked his life for.
His stint in the Home Guard in WW2 was to prevent fascism from taking root on our shores.
What an absolutely shameful, disrespectful spectacle this is.

Remember when Poppy Day/Remembrance used to be a dignified affair? Taking time out to remember those who had given up everything, rather than the tacky performative nonsense parts of it have become in the last few years. We need to put the brakes on and think about what it means

So this guy has been in for 100 days he'll tinker around to try and make us think he's a socialist, but in reality he's just like the rest, a right wing establishment patsy,he's as usual going to cut benefits but in a more controlled way over a longer time period
