(PRIMARY2 Trial) 🚨 @ButeauJames: PSMA-11 PET scan after an equivocal mpMRI (PI-RADS 2/3) cuts TP prostate biopsies by 50%. By using PRIMARY score, avoiding biopsies for PSMA-ve men and only targeted biopsies for PSMA-positive men—was non-inferior🔬👨‍⚕️ #ProstateCancer #EAU26 #pcsm

The AlphaBet trial @PeterMacCC @TheLancetOncol release today @myESMO #ESMO25: combining Lu-177 PSMA-I&T + Ra-223 in men with metastatic castration-resistant #ProstateCancer is safe, feasible, and active. ✅ No dose-limiting toxicities 💪 PSA-50% decline in 55% 🧬 Supports future α+β theranostic combos. 🔗 authors.elsevier.com/a/1lyc6… Congrats @LouiseKostos: what an amazing PhD! Thank-you to @PCF_Science @pros_tic @Bayer for funding & support, co-senior author @AzadOncology, all the co-authors, wider village of contributors and most importantly our patients and their families for participating.

#PRIMARY2 was a rather crazy (ambitious) idea a few years ago: run of randomised trial of 660 patients to determine if PSMA PET can improve DIAGNOSIS of prostate cancer in selected men with uncertain findings on MRI, potentially reducing the need for painful biopsies. Recruitment has completed thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication from @drlouiseemmett @DrDanielMoon @ButeauJames and the many many urologists & nuclear medicine specialists around Australia who make this happen. Thanks to all the participants and our funders @PCF_Science @pros_tic @StVincentClinic @ANZUPtrials Clinical trial protocol here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3806… First results 2026...
A clinical trial assessing a less invasive way to diagnose early #prostatecancer has just recruited its 660th, and final, patient. Read more about the PRIMARY2 trial - co-led by St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and @pros_tic at Peter Mac - here: petermac.org/about-us/news-a…

It gets easier. Also, if you jog super slow the first mile, then everything after that is a lot easier. Just give your body some time to wake up and get into the rhythm of it. A lot of people push too hard right away, and then get burned out before they ever really got going.
