Been thinking about what @JessGrose wrote in the @NYTParenting today. "Despite these alarm bells clanging, signaling a financial and emotional disaster among America’s mothers..the cultural and policy response enacted at this point has been nearly nonexistent."
And I am a white privileged woman. Imagining the how this crisis effects brown and black mothers makes me weep. It will take generations for women to recover from this. Generations.
All day every day my children call for me. From 5:30am to 8pm at night it’s relentless neediness that won’t let up when I’m in the shower, the bathroom or working. Just constant demand for my attention and care. I am broken.
