Because if every governor is only thinking about what they can achieve within four or eight years in their own state, we’ll just keep building isolated successes instead of a truly prosperous North.

Not necessarily a return to the old political structure, but the thinking behind it where it’s one region but one long-term vision and coordinated execution.

with the entire region in mind. Sometimes I wish we still had the kind of regional leadership structure that produced figures like the Sardauna, where there was someone thinking beyond individual states and coordinating a broader Northern development agenda.

has its own priorities, but those priorities fit into one larger economic vision for Northern Nigeria. Agriculture in one state should connect to processing in another. Mining should feed local industries. Energy, transport, irrigation, education and technology should be planned

The governors shouldn’t be developing 19 states in isolation, each pursuing whatever seems most relevant to their own state. The resources, rivers, agricultural lands, transport networks and markets don’t stop at state boundaries. There should be a regional plan where every state

So true.. if only wishes were horses🥹. Nonetheless for this to truly happen, I think the North needs something bigger than individual state development plans. We need a concerted regional development strategy. Something similar to what @NEconomicAgenda is about.
Mining, agriculture and solar energy can transform Northern Nigeria. We have the ingredients for a century of prosperity: gold, lithium, tin, copper and limestone; abundant sunshine; vast, fertile agricultural land; and major rivers with enormous potential for irrigation and year round farming. With sustained investment in education, infrastructure, technology, water management and local value addition, these resources can power a prosperous, industrialized and economically vibrant North. It's all doable in our lifetime..

Lmao, have you tried Niger state? Try doing from Suleja to New Bussa you’ll think you’re traveling cross-country
Kogi State has to be the longest state I've passed through to any state. Once you enter Kogi State, even with very good speed, you're not out until after 4 hours.

The vehicle motion cues feature on iPhone is such a convenient one fr. It used to be that whenever I’m in transit I couldn’t use my phone.
