‼️🏀 THIS ONE HITS DIFFERENT… 🏀‼️ Words truly can’t express how I feel about the hiring of Coach Cornelius Deland Deere as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach of the TF North Meteors! ☄️🔥 This moment is bigger than basketball. Following the recent passing of beloved TF North Head Coach Tim Bankston, Coach Deere received the official blessing of the Bankston family to help carry the torch forward. 🙏🏽🕊️ And when you talk about someone who has EARNED an opportunity like this… look no further. Coach Deere, a Rich Central graduate, made history in 2024 by leading Schrum Memorial School of Calumet City to its FIRST IESA State Championship! 🏆🔥 But championships only tell part of his story. This brother has poured YEARS into this game… developing young men, mentoring kids, building programs, supporting coaches and giving back to South Suburban basketball in ways that are honestly too numerous to name. 💯 And this one is personal for me. I absolutely LOVE this brother. Cornelius has done so much for me personally throughout my journey in youth sports that I’ll forever be indebted to him. Some people talk about supporting others — this brother LIVES IT. ❤️✊🏽 So understand something… SOUTH SUBURBAN HOOPS IS ECSTATIC ABOUT THE FUTURE OF TF NORTH BASKETBALL! ☄️🏀🔥 We can’t wait to see what God has in store for Coach Deere, these young men, the TF North administration and the entire Meteors community. Because at the end of the day… HE’S ONE OF OURS. 💯 📍 BORN HERE. 📍 BRED HERE. 📍 SOUTH SUBURBAN MADE. Congratulations, Coach Cornelius Deere! 👏🏽🔥🏀 The South Suburbs are behind you, brother. Now go make it SPECIAL at TF North! ☄️🏆🙏🏽 @north_tf @that_guy_hoops @scottybscout @PrepHoopsIL @mikeclarkpreps @BigTimRevue @TimShakedown #SSHoops #SouthSuburbanHoops #TFNorth #MeteorBasketball #CoachDeere #SouthSuburbanMade
