This is an actual picture of a molecule taken by IBM, created by using a technique called Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM).

The chair role is mainly procedural and diplomatic. It involves presiding over the 2027 annual meetings, setting speaking order and facilitating dialogue. It brings no extra voting power, no control over loans or programs, and no preferential financing access. Most decisions stay with the executive boards. Pakistan’s public debt stands near 68% of GDP with ongoing IMF support via a $7bn EFF and $1.4bn RSF. Recent staff-level agreements and fiscal gains (lower deficit, primary surpluses) show stabilization progress, yet external financing needs remain. The appointment is rotational among members and offers visibility for developing-country priorities without added obligations or risks tied to debt levels. It is a net positive for representation.

Before 2014, India had little or no presence in electronics and semiconductors. For decades, India was taken in the direction of socialism by clueless leaders. Manufacturing was not part of our strategic economic vision. It was actively discouraged and ignored, and many believed India could never build electronics or semiconductors. And then, in 2014, India’s leadership changed, and India’s ambitions changed. In 2021, when I became a Minister, against the backdrop of a still-raging COVID, PM @narendramodi ji called a meeting to discuss semiconductors. Many officials said, “India can’t do this. Only America, Taiwan and Korea can.” So many discouraged me. Only one person, PM Modi ji, said, “You go ahead. You draft the policy. ” There were many sceptics when I decided to include the Design Linked Incentive scheme as part of the policy too. But PM Modi ji’s clear vision that design is as important as manufacturing guided me. That allowed me to build it into the policy. Five years later, the results are visible: 🔹 12 approved semiconductor projects across 6 states, Rs 1.64 lakh crore in committed investment 🔹 Made-in-India chips already in commercial production 🔹 India’s first commercial fab at Dholera 🔹 620+ chip startups, $1 billion+ raised, and global giants acquiring Indian chip design companies Netrasemi in Thiruvananthapuram, among the first startups backed under the #futureDESIGN #DLI scheme, is designing world-class chips and has since raised Rs 107 crore. As I wrote in my column #SignalToNoise for @IndianExpress : India has the talent and a PM with the vision to back these goals. What we now need is a direct national strategy as part of our next phase toward design and architecture. The countries that design the chips the world runs on will write the story of this century. This is what #PoliticsOfSeva and #PoliticsOfPerformance can achieve. This is how we build #ViksitBharat.

Wow. Back in 2017, Volkswagen’s CEO absolutely ridiculed Elon Musk and Tesla with a breathtaking level of arrogance, compounded by that typically German air of smug superiority. Here's a translation: "Well, I suppose I have to say a few words about Tesla. With all due respect, there are companies out there that are world champions at making grand announcements. I won't name names. There are companies that struggle to sell 80,000 cars a year. Volkswagen sold 11 million that year. Then there are companies like Volkswagen that generate €13 or €14 billion in annual profits. And if I'm correctly informed, Tesla is burning through hundreds of millions of euros every quarter, while firing employees whenever it feels like it. As for any sense of social responsibility, I'm not sure where that comes into the picture. So I would ask everyone to get a sense of perspective here and stop comparing apples with oranges." Nine years later, Volkswagen is heading for the scrapheap of history, while Elon is making cars fly.

Every AI model effin sucks. Takes so much effort to get it to do the job e.g. Market Research for a technology. Any recommendations on how to set perplexity or claude? My cognitive load is off the charts trying to make the dumb programs work

This is the most detailed view of a human brain to date. A team of researchers used electron microscopy (EM) to image a cubic millimeter-sized piece of human brain tissue at high resolution and this is a single neuron with 5,600 of the nerve fibers that connect to it.

The entire universe must, on a very accurate level, be regarded as a single indivisible unit in which separate parts appear as idealisations permissible only on a classical level of accuracy of description. This means that the view of the world being analogous to a huge machine, the predominant view from the sixteenth to nineteenth centuries, is now shown to be only approximately correct. The underlying structure of matter, however, is not mechanical. This means that the term "quantum mechanics" is very much a misnomer. It should, perhaps, be called "quantum non-mechanics". - David Bohm, Quantum Theory (1951)
