The 18-month runway looks generous until you count it in budget cycles.
Notice and consent, security safeguards, breach reporting, data principal rights, retention limits. Penalty for weak safeguards: up to ₹250 crore. This is not a fine you budget around.
The line item most plans miss: your AI tools.
Every time staff paste a customer's details into a public AI tool, personal data leaves the building. Under DPDP you are still accountable.
