What Exactly Is a DAG?
You've probably heard: “Create a DAG in Airflow.” But what exactly is a DAG?
DAG stands for Directed Acyclic Graph. The name sounds more complicated than the idea. A DAG is simply a way of representing tasks and the relationships between those tasks.
📌Why it matters for data engineers
Once you understand DAGs, Airflow becomes much easier to reason about. You're no longer just learning syntax; you're learning how to represent a real data workflow.
💡Take one of your existing pipelines and try to identify all the tasks

Many people think data engineering is all about writing code.
It isn't. Code is a reflection of how you think.
Before the first line, the real work is:
👉 What is this problem asking?
👉 What data do I have?
👉 What could go wrong?
Why Data Engineers Need Orchestration
A Python pipeline can work perfectly when you run it yourself.
But what happens when it needs to run every morning?
What if the API fails? What if one task depends on another? What if the database is unavailable? What if you need
📌Why it matters for data engineers
Modern data pipelines rarely consist of one script doing one thing. They involve multiple systems and dependencies, and orchestration helps bring those pieces together.
✨Have you ever had a pipeline that worked perfectly manually but
