As the Sun rises over Super Typhoon Champi, the satellite presentation is as good as it has ever been. The tiny but well-defined pinhole eye has a temperature of nearly 20°C and is embedded in a symmetrical cold CDO, gravity waves pulsing through it. Might be Cat5 on the 00Z ATCF

Incredible satellite view as the sun rises over Super Typhoon #Champi near Guam. Violent thunderstorms with powerful updrafts in the eyewall are creating outward-radiating ripples called "gravity waves". An absolute monster storm.
