Thanks to everyone who came out today for the sentencing. Stupidist thing ever to say...but I wish Dave could have been there to see you all.
Friday, September 27 is the sentencing date for Dave's murderer. 10:30 am, Courtroom 313 in the Superior Court of DC, located at 500 Indiana Avenue, NW. Anyone can attend.
Thanks everyone for your kind words and support. My lack of response is simply because this is, well, just beyond hard at times (and Dave would point out my Twitter lameness and ambivalence), but you all are great.
You can reach me here or @Oskarchat: my extremely underused account I set up years ago to humor Dave.
I understand some you may wish to do impact statements. You need to coordinate with me. I am working with the US Attorney and Crime Victims Program to organize these.
In this whollly inadequate process, I want to show the court how the loss of Dave is felt far beyond me, in diverse ways. I want to impress upon them that Little should serve max sentence of the plea and DC should take rehabilitation seriously.
As reported, a plea agreement was reached today with the man who killed Dave. Sentencing is Sept 27 at 10:30. Please mark the date and try to attend.
This is Jean, Dave's spouse. I've kept Dave's account to share information from time to time. I will not tweet as often, cleverly, or quickly as Dave, but will tweet once in a while. Sorry to any of you who find this jarring, but I wanted to reach out.
#BikeSchool A3: My kid says she loves biking but she only feels safe when she doesn't have to jockey for position among cars. As much as DC says we can value cycling, there are only a dozen miles of protected bike lane in total. (Some okay off-road trails help a little.)

***Q3: What do you WISH your town/employer/school/whatever would do to encourage more people to ride more often? What will you #YesYou do to get that effort rolling? #BikeSchool

I’m in my early 50s. I’m white. I grew up in an era, region, socio-economic class, dominant pop culture and overall network of deep institutional racism that, combined with my own ignorant-ass attitudes, makes me cringe now at shit I’ve said and done.
Good job, party people! "A few bad apples" have given the antis a platform, again, & now we're going to expend limited resources on rehashing the same old tropes. Go donate to WABA and start showing up at meetings - you can still end the night at a bar.

Cc: @DDOTDC - I'm starting to wonder if someone in your agency set up the abandoned @DDOT handle so people who make this mistake can be written off. "Never saw it. Oh, did you use the wrong handle? Not our problem!"
@DDOTDCDirector, you could fix this...

M St NE between 1st St and the MBT ramp, 6:19 PM on 4/17/2019. Four work vehicles (Joy, Flippo, PEPCo) completely blocking both directions of the bikeway with no alternate route or flagger.
C'mon, @washingtongas - "bad at parallel parking" doesn't make it okay to leave the work van in the bike lane!
On my dark days I imagine Jeff and Matt blackmailing Mary, Charles, and David to look the other way or else, and that they've triggered disruptive signal timing patterns as a demonstration of the trouble they could cause.
The worst is that @DDOTDC KNOWS this is all done without proper permits and has decided not to do anything about it, yet no one who oversees DDOT has done anything
