Trump’s tariff plan is a tax that American consumers will pay. The foreign countries that are exporting their goods to America do not pay the tariffs, you do.
In total, while intended to bolster U.S. manufacturing by making imported goods less competitive, such a broad tariff approach is widely expected to have a net negative impact on American consumers through higher prices and constrained economic growth
