LET'S GOOO 🔥🔥🔥 So this is Fedora, KDE under Wayland through HDMI of my RX 580, running a Win11 VM that is ALSO using the GPU, 70+ FPS! In short, Linux GPU-PV for Windows guests has been achieved! It's a WIP, but after a month, it's good as a PoC! #linux #gaming #vfio #gpu #rx580 #amd #gpupv #paravirtualization #virtual #machine

Hey @JoshuaSWarren how hard would it be to have an omarchy alpine-like version for Apple Silicon? macOS grabs about 3 GB of VRAM so on a 8 GB Air model you end up with around 5.73 GB usable. Would doing something like this and then using it remotely improve the situation? 🤔

This is exactly right… it’s a paradigm shift. We all got used to thinking our skill is to remember syntax and write code. Our skill was always building solutions, thinking logically. Writing syntax was the roadblock. AI removed the roadblock
Software isn’t dead. Humans writing software by hand is dead. The world still needs builders, it’s just that the tools of the trade have changed.

UniGPU? wat dis OwO? Well... Here's a little sneak peek. I'm building now an universal driver for using the host GPU on Virtual Machines, range from MS-DOS to Win11 + Linux + macOS. Wish me luck! Got DirectX 9-11 + OpenGL 1.0-3.0 on Win98 SE working well so far!

The debate is settled. Linus has spoken, get over it.

The Linux Kernel is removing the requirement of tagging AI generated code submissions. Over the last 10 months, we’ve been able to track the growing rate of AI coding in the kernel (with over 20% of all code submissions being AI generated, so far in October)… we know this thanks to the kernel’s required “Assisted-by” AI tag. With the removal of this requirement, we will no longer be able to effectively track the level of AI development within Linux. This change was agreed upon (by the majority of kernel devs) at the Linux Maintainers Summit, held last week in Prague. The stated reasons for removing the “AI declaration” requirement are varied, but come down to these three arguments: 1) Usage of AI for coding the Linux kernel is becoming so widespread, that declaring it is redundant. (One developer likened it to declaring which text editor you used.) 2) Linux Kernel developers feel that most developers who use AI… are not actually following the rule of labeling their submissions as such anyway. 3) Other developers feel like it is “free advertising” for various AI platforms. This change has not been officially merged yet, but (considering it was already agreed upon, and seems to have the support of top level maintainers at the Linux Foundation) that is expected to happen shortly.

How do y'all manage to build like 4 SaaS and get like 27386237863 MRR like, seriously? It's not as easy as it sounds :/

Hard to believe that now that I've got AI that enables me to contribute to the big projects I've dreamt of, without having to go through decades of learning low-level languages, obscure GFX libraries, firmware, etc. Now they're getting all jiddy-fiddy on LLM-generated code :/

Based AF!
Agent contributions to Omarchy are not only very welcome, but I usually prefer them! Rare is the human who has the patience to match an agent in providing all the pertinent details in a bug report. Also, PRs are mostly just proofs of concept now anyway.

Only the AI company that can provide models without annoying guardrails and unlimited (even if throttled) usage will win this faceoff. Everything else is just games.

This sucks, but I've been bitten a thousand times. I've always adviced to use debit cards and fill them as if prepaid, or use prepaid ones. Yes you'll have to pay account maintenance but it saves you from this situation, if it even tries to charge more, it won't go through.
UPDATE after somebody from vietnam stole my keys and rang up 90k bills spinning up fable 5.1 swarm: bank tells me to talk to Google and Google tells me to talk to my bank, charge went through ☹️

Por favor, difusión 🙏 Hi @AnthropicAI, @ClaudeDevs, @claudeai and @DarioAmodei, please help. Our friend @miriamgonp needs access to your models to keep fighting breast cancer. She has built her own team of AI agents to help study her case, and credits to use your models would be a tremendous help. The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute itself has acknowledged that the information uncovered by the agents can be very helpful. It’s a small thing for you, but it would mean so much to her. Thank you.
Ideas, ayudas...

Had to use a custom VM viewer to use the d-bus display path for QEMU's GPU, gonna check if there's a way to keep the FPS up with the stock one. This also means we MAY be able to have encode/decode HW accel for Sunshine / Moonlight! #sunshine #moonlight #steam #parsec #remote #gaming #linux

DHH totally gets it. Back when we were the ones working on the code, frameworks, libraries and languages made sense. Now? As long as you can write in your own language and know how to ask, it's more than enough.
But of course faster languages without any framework overhead are also vastly more verbose! Rust is more than 10x the LOC of the Rails version (and 100x as ugly). That mattered greatly when expensive human programmers had to write the code. Now the math is different!

Something changed in Opus, or Claude Code. Now it's finding bugs everywhere (and valid ones!), things it didn't find before. Anybody experiencing the same, or maybe it was my CLAUDE.md? 🤔

Here's some numbers for y'all: Looks like my experiment of GPU-PV under Linux for Windows guests runs at around +/- 20% depending on the app and the method it uses to sync with the GPU and DWM. I'm still not happy though, I'm trying to get it as close as possible to Hyper-V.

When working on a project and you're thinking on changing the model... DON'T! Each model works differently, and the code it'll output won't align to the same "thinking" as the previous model had. It's better to stick to one from beginning to end (of app, feature, task, etc.)
