Times: 'There are a no. of explanations as to y Sir Keir...appointed a man with questionable character...without vetting him first.' Times lists several possibilities none of which is the fact that Mandelson+Starmer+McSweeney were in a gang who won power and M was rewarded.

Trigger warning. This is about Care Leavers dying.
I've been stationary for two hours on a train in Retford. Someone's been discovered on the tracks due to mental ill health. Police and ambulance services are attending to the person.
While here I received this news item from my friend Terry Galloway. It's about the high death rate of young care leavers. A care leaver is seventy percent more likely to take their own life. Two care leavers die each week.
Nick Martin is in the news item. He is the journalist who made a sky doc about "Nonita" a care leaver who took her own life via train tracks.
Terry Galloway is brilliant. . My train is still stuck in the station. I am tired.

No new drilling was a key manifesto promise. It persuaded untold numbers of people to lend their vote to Labour. There is no remotely valid reason to break it. The war in the middle east is no excuse. False claims of economic benefits or energy security are no excuse. Pressure from the right or the left, from the oil industry - no excuse. There are no reasons to break this promise. Nothing to be gained by our country, much to be lost by Labour. Voters remember broken manifesto promises, as the Lib Dems know well.
Labour should stand firm, apply logic and facts - and it’s clear this crisis cannot be solved by drilling in the north sea. This is a crisis of fossil fuels and our dependency on global markets to set our energy prices. We need to take control of that, break this dependency. We need to reform our energy market - anything less than this is ‘performative' and an abdication of responsibility. Allowing new drilling would be a betrayal of millions of us.

The smirking face of Israel’s legislative apartheid — and a death sentence for thousands of Palestinians persecuted by Israeli government policy.
The UK government must sanction Israel and end all arms exports immediately.
Itamar ben‑Gvir told Israel's Channel 7 that the Israeli government is ordering new uniforms and opening a dedicated death row wing following a controversial new execution law targeting Palestinians.
He said the measures are necessary to punish Palestinians even as human rights groups warned that the questionable law deepens state violence and undermines legal safeguards.
Israel will only be executing Palestinian prisoners and does not extend the same punishment to Israeli citizens, highlighting its discriminatory nature.
International condemnation has been swift as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights called the law discriminatory and a potential war crime.
European governments, including Britain, France and Germany, described it as dangerously discriminatory, while many Muslim‑majority states, including Pakistan, Turkey and Egypt, denounced it as a violation of international law.
Amnesty International said the law undermines due process and fair trial rights, and other regional human rights forums called for urgent global action to halt its implementation.
Critics argue the legislation entrenches a racist system of state violence and specifically targets Palestinians.

This has to be some kind of grim joke. Does Yvette Cooper not know that we've noticed that the Strait was closed as a result of the invasion. When there's a war, people do things like blockages, sieges, and counter-actions. The Strait was open before the war, Yvette.
The UK's foreign secretary has condemned what she says is Iran's recklessness in blockading the Strait of Hormuz.
Yvette Cooper is chairing a meeting of nations who are seeking to re-open the shipping lane.

Odd how the millionaires and billionaires, who are trousering ever more of the available money, use their media to tell you you’re having a hard time surviving because of immigrants.
Yeah, odd that.

Israel continues to act as a rogue state and wreck international law with absolutely no pushback from its allies in the UK, US or EU.
Enough is enough. The British government must sanction Israel, suspend all arms sales and bring Netanyahu to justice.
