Giving @JanetJackson her flowers 🌹 Celebrating 40 years of Control and an era that changed my life forever. I’ve actually abandoned Otter.ai at this point. As a journalist, I’m not the intended audience, it seems.
Now, I take my audio recording and put it in Slack. Slack transcribes it pretty quickly and it’s a godsend 🙏🏾
i use otter.ai for interviews and at some point since i started using it it’s become an exclusively b2b product so instead of just showing me a transcript, it also creates an AI synopsis of the interview (usually unhelpful) and “action items” (always unhelpful lol)

✨Some exciting news✨ After spending 2+ years at LAist writing fun, impactful stories, producing podcasts and even taking home some awards, I’m now in a season of exploring new opportunities — freelance, part-time and full-time.
I hit a wall in media. Not because it’s “not good enough for me” but it can only contain the imagination to a certain extent. Many of us can dream with more imagination than a budget will ever allow bc the budget doesn’t exist for all.
