One of the things that libs refuse to believe is that the poor are on average way shittier people than the middle class or rich. But take it from me, as someone who grew up living below the federal poverty line & worked rough blue collar jobs to pay my way through college: the poor really are worse on average. This really shouldn't be all that surprising! Being a shitty person in just a really banal interpersonal way is a good way to be poor. Lazy & disagreeable enough to just walk off your job for an hour instead of the 5 minute smoke break you were supposed to be taking? Good luck holding down a job long enough to not be poor. Impulsive & violent enough to threaten your coworkers over mild disputes at the workplace? Have fun being in & out of jail, oh & not being able to hold down a job long enough to not be poor. Have a drinking problem that you're not willing to address, so you show up to work every day hungover? Too sexually out of control to keep your hands off the women unfortunate enough to get near you? Gambling problem that you keep stealing to fund? Poor, poor, poor. It's not that being poor makes you a bad person. I know plenty of decent poor people! But most poor people aren't Aladdin. And a lot of the most common vices that just make you really miserable to be around are a good way to get & stay poor.
