Don't get me wrong, I love nicotine.
But the last 2 days I've been weaning myself off it.
The hardest part isn't cravings.
It's the lack of intensity and focus.
I notice how easily distracted I am without it.
Also took me till 12.30 to start work. Crashed out in bed. Two nights of 10 hour sleeps. Body in recovery mode.
But here's what's interesting:
I feel more aware of my surroundings. Less stressed. More interested in people. I want to get outside and explore. I'm having thoughts about my health that I haven't had in weeks.
Nicotine narrows your focus. Coming off it, I feel myself wanting to zoom out again.
And that's the point:
We need seasons of intense focus and seasons of zooming out.
Blasting nicotine and caffeine has its place. I even know people who smash ritalin and adderall. That's a little too hardcore for me. I don't want to completely isolate myself. I've seen people's whole faces transform from too much lock-in.
The frame of mind you operate from dictates everything. Your actions. Your thoughts. Your ideas.
Right now I'm enjoying the nic-free headspace.
Will I lose some focus? Maybe.
Will I stop working? No.
Will I get to experience life from a new frame of mind? Yes.
Life's bigger than being constantly locked in.
Every 3 weeks, zoom out. Remember there's a world outside your business.
Reengage with it.

Aim for 3β6 touchpoints per attendee before and during the webinar.
On our last client webinar, 50% of the people who booked a call had been personally messaged beforehand.
Registration = interest.
Show-up = commitment.
Your business isnβt winning because you take too much time to make a decision.
While youβre still figuring out the perfect plan, your competitors are taking messy action, figuring it out on the fly and dominating your market.
And dominating you, spiritually and financially.
The longer you wait to say βfuck itβ, the harder itβll be to break into the market.
Losers plan. Winners act.
Itβll never change.
I just saw a man using big difficult words while talking to his toddler son.
βHere you are, because Iβm so magnanimousβ
Kid didnβt even respond.
Was completely tuned out.
Clearly didnβt understand wtf his dad was on about.
Lesson there.
I know what itβs like to lose.
Countless times, the money dried up.
I've missed payroll.
There were times I had to sleep on my grandma's couch because I had no rent money.
In those moments, you really learn who you are.
Because you have to face your fears head on.
Most people believe that if someone could see them at their lowest, they'd be unwanted.
Exiled. Cast out. It all stems from the fear of being helpless, alone and without shelter.
Which ultimately leads to the fear of death.
And that's really what stops most people from ever trying.
The ordeals we go through as entrepreneurs feel like life or death.
Body goes into fight or flight. For years.
Most people can't tolerate that. It's a perpetual state of pain. Stress. Anxiety.
But that's actually real life.
Someone has to take that on so that others don't have to.
That's our cross to bear.
The entrepreneurs who win pick up the cross and go through the ordeal. Put their pride to one side. Take on years of humiliation, rock bottoms and rice and beans to get the outcome they want.
It sucks.
But when the wheels fall off and you have nothing, that's when you are truly free.
All the fears melt away.
Material things provide physical security. Most people get lost in this and become removed from God.
It's only when that melts away that you become acutely aware of the invisible force which held it all up in the first place.
When you put your faith in things, and they inevitably go, you have nothing.
If you put your faith in God, even if you lose the material, you have everything.
The only illusion is the material world.
Keep going.
