After 9 years working in an office as an architect, I switched careers and I am now working fully remote as a dev in a fantastic small startup, spending some months living around Italy 🇮🇹 with my little dog Mao 🐶 Should've have switched sooner 🤌

To me, remote work is liberating because it removes the requirement that I "appear" busy. I can lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling to solve a problem or reset my brain. I don't have to pretend to be looking at an IDE.

Yes. This 100x. Also, makes dog happy 🐶
One of the lesser discussed benefits of remote work is that I get to wake up when the sun comes up and not rush my morning. I haven’t had to set my alarm in over a year.
Super happy to have helped put this out in the world! A lot more coming soon 💪 @gtalarico thanks for creating it!
We are excited to get this project out today!🎉 aec.works is a curated list of innovative AEC companies and startups. It's a 100% open source and a collaborative effort from several folks in the AEC technology industry. 1/6
Two things I always strived for as a team manager and felt disheartened to see people suffer without them in other teams: clarity and transparency. Fantastic article from @sarah_edo on the topic: css-tricks.com/the-importanc…

I wanted to write an article called "Why do we need state machines, anyway?" but it can be summed up in a tweet: State machines & statecharts provide a precise, visual, and universal "language" for describing all kinds of logic. They let you move faster without breaking things.

Same here. Every time someone sends me a link to a Notion doc or if I have to go to our Notion space to check anything, I'm like
This is true. I literally stopped using Notion because it's slow. And only because it's slow.
Spent the last 2 hours converting CSS grids with implicit heights to flex containers because Safari would not show my scrollbars on overflow: auto. Also, its dev tools are kinda meh compared to Chrome/FF/Edge. Is Safari the new IE? 🤔

This is awesome. I use state machines for basically everything. My Vue components are now just dumb little things taking orders from my machines. #xstate FTW
Let's make it official - I'm building a catalogue of reusable state machines you can copy and paste into your apps. We've got a bunch written already, but I want ~10 more before we release the first version. What machines do you want to see?

Been using Edge as my main browser for the past weeks and have to say I love it. Fast, clean, love the native vertical tab arrangement. Feel guilty for leaving Firefox though. Like I am not supporting the underdog anymore 🥺
