Ok coach, fine, but how? Some tools for developing this skill:
1️⃣ focus on what you can control rather than the many things outside of your control. The whims and levers that move this world are strong. Don’t bother with what you can’t manage, deal with what you can
The mental game can be simplified. It’s not rocket science, but it IS brain science
A science AND an art.
Simple is better for brains.
So can mental performance consultants simplify complex concepts that help you in performance?
Yes. An acronym: W.I.N.
What’s
Important
Now
My son is 6. Today I asked him if there was anything in particular he wanted to do after school today. He said: “basketball lesson with you.”
Not sure how we got here but man, here we are! We are doing something right.

“As a family, we’ve had the privilege of supporting Jalen’s growth beyond basketball, and that experience inspired us...”

“Many people, they stand out and look up in the universe, they feel how small they are.
Yes, you are small in space, in size, in time, yes.
However, when you look up at the night sky, when I look up at the night sky, I'm not thinking how small I am…
… So, you can't go into the universe with a big ego, it will get squashed. Go in there with no ego and you will ascend into the cosmos.
Emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.”

We are a participant in that story. And because of that, not only are we alive in this universe, the universe is alive within us. And that is a 20th century discovery of astrophysics that borders on the spiritual.
…
…
I'm thinking how big I am. Because those ingredients forged in the cores of stars made me.
It's not simply that I am alive in this universe. We are all made of stardust. We're part of a great unfolding cosmic story.

The parade transformed the Knicks from spectator sport to participation sport for fans.
We scouted locations the night prior.
I stopped drinking fluids then, too.
Set an alarm, for early.
Had my uniform picked out.
We knew the route, knew our options. We had a game plan!
I kept feeling like I was floating.
Different than actually being on a float. And probably easier on the feet than standing for 7 hours.
Of course a lifetime of pain is <

"There's a lot of people
Who have a lot of opinions
But when you prove em wrong
You don't have to say shit to them
Nah
They don't deserve it.
Thank you"

When I think of the 2026 Knicks, I’ll think of Brunson’s clutch barrage and OG’s tip first.
But after of that, I’ll think of this play. It’s everything I love about basketball, a team selflessly solving a seemingly unsolvable problem. The beautiful game. xitter.cf/SamQuinnCBS/status/206…
Said to my wife that this Knicks run is connecting several (seemingly) distinct generations of fans.
1. The 20/30 somethings whose fandom started just after the ‘99 team- never really saw the team do anything
2. 40/50 somethings (I’m here)- saw the finger roll miss…
0-0.
