We should try not to get drunk on our literacy that we become blind to the possibility of being fallible. We must keep watch over the arrogance that can brew from perceiving ourselves as more intellectual than the average. Even Shakespeare no go crash out like this.
Today, I put aside a long short story I've been at, inconsistently, since Wednesday and tried the shorter story idea I got in church and now I have:
1) a complete 700 word first draft that I like very much
2) showed myself that I can finish things
3) a renewed strength story #1
I simply cannot bring myself to believe that any writer who is highly critical of other writers is a good writer. To be a good writer, you need to write a lot and writing is such a humbling endeavor. How can you not be graceful when your pride is being checked on a regular?
