The Olympics start today! 🌍🏅 For the second time, each team will have a man and a woman as flag bearers in the Parade of Nations. This step mirrors society’s push towards gender equality, but real change requires more than symbolic gestures. #Olympics2024 1/8
From Tokyo 2020, the IOC mandates male and female flag bearers for each team, aiming for gender equality. However, achieving gender equality in the Olympics requires more than just symbolic acts. Gender balance but must be accompanied by systemic support for female athletes 7/8
