Latest from the lab, driven by Lizzie Ledger. Crossover in antibiotic resistance activity between oxacilin and daptomycin. …. All roads may lead to Rome in some places but for S. aureus they all lead to Agr activity!!

Fully-funded PhD opportunity looking to turn a key feature of biofilms against the microbes in the battle against antimicrobial resistance - don’t miss out!! bit.ly/3ZI5qoP
Top tip for attending a scientific conference: book a return flight that isn’t 9 hours after the end of the conference, especially if you’re planning to be unwell for 36h during it. 4 h into waiting and at this point I wish I had just taken the train..I’d be half way there by now
Although, the Cafe Nero chair is comfortable, and the soothing Scottish bagpipe music is actually quite calming..could definitely sneak in a few winks before I drop off my baggage
Thank you @MicrobioSoc for a really wonderful conference! It is always great to attend these, and lovely to catch up with old friends..and meet new ones! @electromicrodj @KasiaMParfitt

Very exciting talk on Candida/bacterial interactions by @SeanaDuggan now
Speedy boarding is a funny thing for those without children or the need to get on early. You’re going to the same place as I am, at the same time, but you get to sit in the confines of the plane for five minutes longer than me. Go for it.
Managed to make it through check in pretty much unscathed. Only to be robbed blind at Starbucks. £6.20 for an iced coffee 😵
Looking forward to #microbio24 in Edinburgh this week! Who’s going?
